I guess just bring your own drinks this time. the game goes by so fast that you really don't drink anything or at least I didn't.
i think we played well and overall had a decent strategy of just letting them shoot. somehow their big bodies again were the key to the game because they still got rebounds and easy put backs...especailly marion. sorry for the very little production in 2nd half. my ankle along with cramps in my right thigh and left calf. guess i need to start stretching before the games. but neways good game i think...im sure at some point we will face a team more our size. see yall at practice hopefully...
Not really a whole lot to say about that game. It just made it even more obvious that we NEED to practice if we want to compete. These other teams have size for days so the only way to beat them is to play together and execute well. We need to work on some simple offensive sets just so we'll have a feel for who is going to be where instead of looking like chickens with our heads cut off at times. I mean I'm a competitive person and I welcome a bit of a disadvantage most of the time, but the size difference between our team and the rest of the league is substantial. If we were all 6'3"+ like the teams we play, I'm sure it'd be a different story...but so is life, right? Anyway, good luck next week guys, I'll be out of town. I'm about 90% sure I'll be back for the game on the 22nd though. If you guys want to keep stats I could send the Excel file to someone.
Yea Rushour, the first half you played like Jackie Chan. The second half was more a Chris Tucker performance... comical. LOL!! Hey, who am I to talk. I was 0-1 with only 2 freaking rebounds. I kind of pride myself with rebounding but I've NEVER had to constantly go against 2-3 guys twice my size. Anyway, I felt we played ok overall but our second half was our downfall again.
I think im going to head out sometime this week to shoot around or something. I have no idea why my shots are off so bad and i am not hitting down open shots that i normally made at U of H consistantly. I feel like im letting the team down with not being able to hit shots i was making with my eyes closed. Definently can't keep shooting like this so i guess ill stay positive since i can't get any worse than these 2 games on my shooting side. Or can i? lol.... Definently need to get some kinds of picks and things setup for shooters and beat them with movement and getting them tired. There is no shotclock and we need to take advantage of that. We won't beat them inside so we have to deifnently work on our game and beat them where we can...running and shooting.
Anyone up for pick up games at marathon covered court at san felipe and yorktown by the galleria? Isn't the new court by the toyota center open now? I'd say go a bit later at night when it's a bit cooler.

I don't have the stats for the last game for 2 reasons: 1. They are back in Houston. 2. Apparently they aren't accurate anyway Sorry.
Damn! I've had the worst luck with my health in the last 6 months or so. Now, it's a freaking spider bite under my arm which has made it very painful to lift my arm at all. I played through it the last game but it got alot worse afterwards. It's starting to get better and looks like it won't be a factor for Monday's game. Anyway, this is the only reason I can't make it to y'all's practice tonight. If you guys go over some stuff (ie: plays, etc) tonight, maybe we can all meet up a little earlier at the outdoor court at YMCA before the game to get caught up.
