ClutchCity, what was the final stats on everyone and/or team?

If it's too much trouble don't worry about it.

It would be cool to track how much time we played also just so we can average it out. But, again, it may be too much trouble.

39% on 3's is pretty good.

I think when we play that team for the championship, we should just keep fdriving right at their two big guys and create contact. If they block us, who cares. We get a bunch of fouls on them and either get them out of the game or they don't play so aggresively.

    Team Stats:

    7/22 2pt FG (31.8%)
    7/18 3pt FG (38.9%)
    14/40 Overall FG (35.0%)

    2/4 FT's (50%)

10 Assists (very good for 14 baskets)

15 Rebounds (not pretty...I was saying earlier that I bet one guy alone on the other team had 15 or more)

    4 steals

    0 blocks

10 fouls (I believe all but 1 was on a shot attempt, so that hurt us a lot)

Individual Stats by jersey # (to protect the innocent lol):

    #3 (2 points): 1/4 2pt FG's, 0/0 3pt FG's, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 foul
    #24 (8 points): 1/2 2pt FG's, 2/8 3pt FG's, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 fouls
    #7 (6 points): 0/1 2pt FG's, 2/2 3pt FG's, 1 rebound
    #13 (3 points): 1/6 2pt FG's, 0/0 3pt FG's, 1/2 FT's, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 fouls
    #1 (2 points): 1/1 2pt FG's, 0/2 3pt FG's, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 fouls
    #12 (4 points): 2/4 2pt FG's, 0/1 3pt FG's, 1 rebound, 2 assists
    #2 (9 points): 1/3 2pt FG's, 2/3 3pt FG's, 1/2 FT's, 1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 foul
    #4 (0 points): 0/1 2pt FG's, 0/1 3pt FG's, 2 rebounds
    #33 (3 points): 0/0 2pt FG's, 1/1 3pt FG's, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 foul

I'm sure they're not 100% accurate, but the points add up at least.

as many of you already said, the calls or the shots didnt go our way. i can name a numerous amount of calls the refs didnt blow the wistle on. a couple travels, some hacks on my arms, #2 stepping out of bounds. i would like to see the foul ratio for both teams....had to be somethin like every 10 wistles they got, we would get 1.
oh well we still played ok...and i wasnt expecting a perfect game as it was our 1st game together.

btw lets take out our loss on some scubs at UH soon.

Stats are posted above, and I agree about UH. Maybe Sundays before each game? I know it would help me personally...I hadn't even shot a basketball since like Thursday. I felt clumsy out there, like a newborn fawn or something :(

same here. i dont think i played since we practiced last monday. during the weekend i was helping here and there with my bro moving. then for that to go with the nerves before the game and when i 1st touched the ball. i was very relieved to hit my 1st 2 shots over shaq. also, these games are quick. im sure i feel like most of yall do about not feeling like we played much.

and anyday to play ball is fine with me...

apparently, someone *cough Kam cough* :p was looking at the chick in the stands and not paying attention to the game. i never shot a free throw...my only basket was my first attempt.

ok, i like everyone's positive attitude about our game, but seriously, we're totally undersized in this league. as kurt mentioned earlier, we can't really go to an inside game, so we're 3 pt dependent. of course, when stack hit his first 2 3-pointers, i was gettin' happy. then, reality set in. :(

not only is it difficult to shoot over them, hell, it was difficult to pass around them.

ok, i'll stop being a killjoy now. :)

By the way, I felt like I could have done a lot more offensively than I did tonight. I might try to be more aggressive from now on to try and stir things up a bit. Hell, even the the ref told me twice to stop hesitating so much on my shot. I mean...if the damn ref is commenting on it...

I think it was obvious (but maybe I'm wrong) that I was much more aggressive when you guys played me at UH than I was tonight. Some of it had to do with the zone and their size, but a lot of it had to do with me just being too cautious.

actually, they played a very good zone. although, i think their size did have alot to do with not only your aggressiveness, but all of ours. it's a totally different game when you're not afraid of getting blocked.

yeah it didn't help to penetrate and then see shaq surrounded by a couple other behemoths. i barely got off a couple dishes to open guys on the perimeter, and somehow i managed my only bucket near the paint, right over shaq, who looked like he was ready to eat me alive.

sounds like we were all hesitating, but i guess that's to be expected for our first game. at least i scored more than kam... :p

Yeah, it was a good zone, mostly because of their size. It made it particularly hard to swing the ball and see passing lanes to the inside. We really needed 2 guys up top at all times and 1 guy cutting to the free throw line. Unfortunately, flashing to the free throw line really only works when you're not outsized by a good 6".

Should we even post the score guys? I like the fire we had. Definitely we were all a bit hesitant and it really showed. I'm sure everyone will come back with some fire next Monday.

When should the next practice be? I believe I can get access to some apartment indoor half courts.

I definently think we hesitated a lot and were basically screwed because of their size. There was a number of times that myself, clutch and Rus had open shots but we hesitated for a split second and they were able to get their hands on it.

There zone was very effective becuase of the size they had everywhere...we could't go in cause they had 2 6 foot 5 guys down low and we started becoming hesitant to take shots and that gave them a chance to collapse on us.

I came out gunning and i didn't hesitate on the first 2 shots then i started to think more about how to get the ball around and waited a few seconds and they just get right up on you. At the same time i didn't wanna come up shooting like we do at U of H cause i want to make sure everyone gets involved and dont wanna be hoggin either...got to make sure everyone gets their shots and everything. I think that happened to Clutch and RusHour as well being hesitant on your shot for one second and then they were right on top of us. The only way we had a chance against that team was to come up shooting and be aggressive.

The ref was helping me out a lot too telling me how to play the big guy to get calls and stuff cuase he knew we were out sized. Definently that little hesitation we had caused some of our downfalls...

I think we will all be more in sync the next few games and realize to take that shot when we have the first look becuase teams with that good of a defense are going to collapse if we give them one second to get on us and double.

Yeah i know you didn't practice with us that much but when we played with people about our size and stuff we would have a lot of cutting and slashing to the basket and could move easier.

Definently a lot harder to slash and cut and go to the basket when they are towering over you. They basically took us completly away from the game and we had to live and die by the shot.

There's a good chance I'll be up at UH tonight. Anybody interested? If you meet me up there it's only $6 to get in.

EDIT: Nevermind...other stuff came up for tonight. I might be out there tomorrow night though.

Well guys, it's been a few days since our game and there's still really no talk about getting together to practice. We definitely need it so let's hear some suggestions.

I'm available to run some full court pretty much from Thursday night to Sunday night anytime. I'll likely be at UH today (Thursday) in the evening/night time. If anybody wants to meet me up there let me know.
