I've played both and it's no contest. ESPN is just a better basketball sim, and for $20? What more could you want?
Best, and last basketball game I ever really played. lineup : Pf - Bullard (for the three) Sf - Horry ( For the three) C - Hakeem Sg -Maxwell ( for the three) Pg- Cassell ( for the three)
Well I never played the Tecmo basketball games, but Tecmo Super Bowl is the greatest football game of all time. You heard me.
I have never liked ANY basketball game anywhere near as much as the Microsoft Inside Drive series. THE BEST simulation ANYWHERE! But alot of people couldnt get into it because it wasn't as flashy as the others so their sales were alot less. Now they have canceled it for this year. I will probably go with ESPN this year simply because it will be only $20 and, from what I have read, they are trying to fix alot of the problems associated with last year's game. I bought last year's and sold it on EBAY a week later. Both games should do away with ALL Iso or Right-thumbstick moves because they ruin the games as much as those moves have ruined the NBA.
Inside drive from what i hear (because i don't have xbox) has great gameplay. But everything else sucked. Kinda in a way espn sucked in that it had great graphics and presentation but sucked in gameplay whether it was post play or having a playbook. If i had xbox, i would have gotten inside drive. but no worries, all evidence points to tippoff tuesdays for espn2k5 to start this tuesday 8/31. Stay tuned.
From what I have read around the net, Tuesday is when they will start releasing all the info regarding the game this year, like new features, enhancements in the gameplay, etc. I read they are supposed to have some huge deal involving the franchise mode that is super secret.
Fear tha Fro Friday is Here!!!! http://www.espnvideogames.com/nba2k5/ new screens and a new video. go here for another video. The one with Shaq on it. I'm friggin pumped. I'm so going to get this game.
