On December 21, 1891, the first game of basketball was played and thus we should celebrate! Inspired by the @ProHoopsHistory twitter account: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">If you could pinpoint THE moment when you knew you loved basketball what would be? <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BasketballDay?src=hash">#BasketballDay</a></p>— Pro Hoops History (@ProHoopsHistory) <a href="https://twitter.com/ProHoopsHistory/status/679006263968075776">December 21, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Edit: lots of great responses to the post above
Well, hell. For me growing up in the cornfields of Illinois, in the heart of bball country, that's like asking a Texan when they knew they loved Friday Night Lights of football. We were raised to love it as a religion and metaphor for life, at an early age. So, probably the first time my brothers took me to a Silver Streaks home game in brutally cold weather, to walk into a cozy warm, fervently loud HS basketball arena with all the fan fare of a IU game.
Twin Towers sealed the deal... Before then I liked Basketball, after seeing them...I fell in Love with Badketball.
