aelliot, this is the "Bash Mo Here" thread. This thread (as I've quoted earlier) has been all about non-productive Mo Bashing. BobFinn*'s initial topic post says nothing about resigning Mo, or his long term potential. Your first post in this thread says nothing about Mo's long-term or resigning him. Cato13 makes the first mention of Mo's future in this thread. Your second post in this thread makes no mention of Mo long-term; you just bashed him. Your third and fourth posts in this thread make no mention of Mo's long-term future; you just bash him. Your fifth and sixth posts make no mention of Mo's long-term future. The fist person after cato13 to make any mention of Mo's long-term future (as opposed to just bashing him) was CriscoKidd: "I think the bashers are just trying to affirm that Mo is NOT the longterm answer at the PF spot . . aeillot, you just starting talking about long-term future and resigning and whatnot AFTER Crisco posted. Crisco was making excuses for Mo bashers. Now you, as a Mo basher, have seized upon that excuse to excuse your Mo bashing. You, among others, were bashing Mo mercilessly in this thread. I called you guys on it, and THEN you started talking about long-term whatnot. You didn't even make up an original excuse to excuse your Mo bashing. We shouldn't be bashing Mo. We should be happy to have him. [This message has been edited by jamcracker (edited November 19, 2000).]
OK, BobFinn*, let's say I agree. Why is thread called "Bash Mo Here", instead of "Why didn't we sign Pig?"? If the Rockets made a made a mistake by signing Mo instead of Pig, that means we should bash Mo?
HPee...errrrrr...jamcracker, we will whine until the Pig(s) come home ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
allright, allright Why do ya wanna call me HeyPee? [s/he says with an air of exasperation] [This message has been edited by jamcracker (edited November 19, 2000).]
I didn't call you HeyPee, I called you HPee ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
awesome archive find aelliott. The Cat,,,did you really call people stupid in this discussion with such a heypocrisy? you know, I think you told me Fortson was too small, also. Anyone want to look up the anti-Fortson talk regarding PF pick-ups. Cat...basking in your Collier call a little too much, maybe.
All we need now, is for Bob Rainey to show up ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
Aelliott... Yes, I know I said that. I'm very much aware I thought that. But you must consider this was after seeing him play 1 or 2 times against the Rockets. That's all I had ever seen him. Evaluations change once you see someone play. Just like you guys are saying, I was basically going by stats and reports alone then. And if you do now, it looks even worse. But it's different when you see the player play. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Looking for next year's Jason Collier or Dan Langhi? Draftsource.net ClutchTown.com
hey,,,if i'm going to be positive...you better give me credit for it*. We are out rebounding our opponents at home. Mo's lack of rebounding is not top 5 in my problems with this team. Now back to some bashing...Mo better stop getting into foul trouble or I will put KT in every time. <font size="1">*-goddammit
this thread is hilarious. gimme your top ten HP. ------------------ There are 3 kinds of lies: lies, lies, and heypeeisms. -DrofDunkingDonuts
The Cat it's clear the consistency of your Mo Taylor argument has unraveled in a major way. It's even funnier that in the past you've said Brian Grant is really what we need and now in an attempt to defend Mo Taylor you try to compare their rebounding numbers to back up your now flip flopped argument. Even Al Gore would be proud of that spin. ------------------ "Somebody DO something out there." -Bill Walton
When you see a player a lot and you haven't seen him much before, he has the chance to prove himself to you. That's what Mo has done for me this season. Just because I didn't originally think he was what we needed doesn't mean I can't now. I had heard about 1 million negative reports on Mo's character, heart, desire, etc. that would make anyone not like him. Also, I am impressed with Taylor's desire, hustle, and D on the floor, two of the main reasons why I thought a guy like Croshere or Grant would be a great fit. The reports I had heard on Taylor from Clipper fans made it seem like he didn't have those 3 qualities. After watching him, I strongly believe he does. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Looking for next year's Jason Collier or Dan Langhi? Draftsource.net ClutchTown.com
aeillot, you just starting talking about long-term future and resigning and whatnot AFTER Crisco posted. Crisco was making excuses for Mo bashers. I called you guys on it, and THEN you started talking about long-term whatnot. You didn't even make up an original excuse to excuse your Mo bashing. First of all I didn't need to make up an excuse because my objections to Taylor have always been based on the fact that Taylor didn't fit into the Rocket's future. If I wanted to bash Mo Taylor just for the sake of bashing Mo Taylor, why would I need to make up excuses. Go read my post from 2:23PM in this other thread: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/009566.html . You'll find that I stated that Taylor didn't suck, he just didn't fit into what he Rocket's needed. I also said that almost a full 5 hours before Crisco made excuses for us Taylor bashers. If I needed to use an excuse, I'd at least use my own. So, try to stick to making arguments based on facts, rather than trying to read my mind. ------------------
Yes, I know I said that. I'm very much aware I thought that. But you must consider this was after seeing him play 1 or 2 times against the Rockets. Cat, guess what? You're first instincts were correct. ------------------

Speaking of first impressions, do I need to bring up the name Jason Collier again? There's how accurate some of them can be. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Looking for next year's Jason Collier or Dan Langhi? Draftsource.net ClutchTown.com
Cat, Could you give us a prediction on what Taylor's rebound average will be at the end of the season? Put me down for +/- 6.0 , if he is lucky. Mango ------------------ Test Your NBA Trade Ideas 1. I think around 6.5. But also, that's assuming he keeps playing around the same minutes he is now, which is about 28. 6.5 doesn't sound good, but I'm basing this on Rudy keeping minutes around what they are now. If Mo starts consistently getting 35 minutes a game, then I do think he can get at least 7. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! OK...crisco my top ten bashes ahead of Mo's Rebounding sucks. 10. Bullard is not a PF--goddammit 9. Walt disappears 8. Mo get's into foul trouble too much 7. Cato falls for headfakes 6. KT shoots only 37% 5. Shandon is a complainer who shoots air balls 4. Francis palms the ball 3. Mobley is selfish 2. Hakeem can't remember new plays top of the list 1. Rudy won't let me have the steering wheel looking at that list, it is no wonder it all looks like a bunch of whining. Nothing is worse than hearing this from the seat behind you at the games, from some bitter father who is brainwashing his son into repeating "we suck" rants. Pippen sucks--dammit--get it straight dude. How about the Oiler fans who come to games occassionally (in their coaches shorts) who yelled endlessly about the Run-n-Shoot sucks, and now need to yell about the ISOs over and over and over and over again, because we have no football, UT sucks, and ISO failure helps them know how to place blame. Board rants can be fun, but when you see it live DURING the games, it is WHINING and really sucks bad donkeys in crisco. <font size="1"><font color="> [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited November 19, 2000).] [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited November 19, 2000).]
