http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4363553 They still gave up a lot in the deal, just not the pitching Toronto wanted. Baseball America's pre-season rankings would mean the Phillies were giving up the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 10th best prospects.
You have to wonder what Cleveland and Mark Shapiro are thinking - they don't get either Drabek or Happ and they don't even get Brown (I think that is the name of the really good position player prospect) AND they get rid of Ben Francisco, who isn't that bad of a bat. I don't know what Cleveland was hoping to get out of this.
Did you see my post? These are 4 very good prospects. 2 are rated in MLB's top 50, and 3 are in Baseball America's top 100. Thats a big haul.
Still I think about every GM would rather take Drabek and Happ over Carrasco and whatever else they gave Cleveland. Well I guess every GM except Mark Shapiro . I mean I don't think Cliff Lee is as good as Roy Halladay but damn, he isn't too far behind him. If I am a Phillies fan, I am loving this deal and really upset if I am an Indians fan.
