Can someone please explain to me why this keeps coming up in threads? I guess I don't get it and, yes, I've seen the movie.

It's the latest fad and I guess it has replaced "Hispanic?" Although I agree that using it in this thread was somewhat stretching it.

Yeah it kind of was but it was funny how Roy has been on the block and now Matt is being traded to stir up some confusion.

It is Matt, right. :p

In my best Tom Hanks "Big" voice....I still don't get it. Instead of a building (skyscraper) that turns into a robot...couldn't we have a robot that turns into a bug? What's fun about playing with a building?

    Precisely.

Holliday is a solid player and a good pick-up for the Cards. I don't think he's single handedly going to win them the division the way Roy Halladay has the potential to, though. The only way Holliday will have a major impact on the divisional race is if he has a Carlos Beltran-type effect on the Cardinals.

    Here are Holliday’s stat lines…

    -Career home: 84 HRs, .357 BA, .423 OBP, .645 SLG, 1.068 OPS.

    -Career road: 44 HRs, .280 BA, .348 OBP, .455 SLG, .803 OPS.

this is not including his bland season this year in Oakland.

dude is just another hitter with Coors Field inflated stats.

He had a nice first game with the Cards. I've noticed that he's using his leg kick in his swing again, I imagine that's contributed to his recent hot streak. He's a great baserunner and a terrific defender in LF, and away from Coors probably a 0.850-0.900 OPS type of hitter. He'll be okay.
