This is probably headed to the D and D..... This is an interesting concept that is brought up every now and then, kind of like the movie Indecent Proposal. When I was applying to law schools we were discussing on a message board what people would do to get into a top school. Several of the female posters stated that they would have a one time fling with whoever if that person approved their application. Before you condemn them let's think about it. They're single and just as likely to have a one night stand at some kegger so what's the big deal of having a one night stand to get the admission to Harvard? Once you're in and of course can handle the curriculum, that's it. You now have a law degree from the most prestigious school in the country and have significantly increased your chances for future professional success. Yeah I know it's not all about where you went to school but studies have shown that a degree from an ivy league nets a higher salary over a lifetime than a non ivy. That being said, in Psych I was taught that since men can spread their seed over multiple partners they choose the healthiest partners since they are most likely to carry the baby to term and the child will then have stronger genes from the strong mother. Healthy meaning young, attractive and in shape. This is an innate animal instinct. Thus you get the older man younger women couples. Women on the other hand desire a man who is a good provider first and "healthy" (attractive) second. Reason being since women can only have one child at a time they need the man who will care for the child, protect them, and stay around. Again the older man younger women couples. Makes sense to me, except for all of those female teachers with the high school boys. I'll chalk that up to the propinquity effect I guess.
Funny how these women would never sell sex outright, but end up essentially doing the same thing. Some of the cases above were particularly pathetic - just to get your laundry done? (how hard is it?) or help on a test? (try studying) or gasoline??? (come on now, gas prices aren't that bad! or, how cheap a wh*re are you that it's no more than a tank of gasoline) Not, of course, that there is any excuse for it. I'm also tired of all these "it's hard wired in our genes" arguments. If you don't believe in evolution, then be your full, morally conscious, human self and make better choices. And if you do believe in evolution... well, are we going to evolve or not?
I agree these are primary pretty piss poor reason to have sex I mean .. if you want sex. . ask for it. . . do it. . . but barter is just strange what i find strange is how kool folx are with this not in the moral sense but in the double standard sense Let's take the college example If a woman offers sex to get into college and get the good life some maybe like will it is bad. . others are like .. do what you gotta do overall . .there would be no one screaming bloody murder but If the man on the other end of this offers his sex for this good life. . .it is basically a sin against humanity One is Bribery . . .the other is Exortion Which is worse? Methinks that you might be in denial. Say you meet two guys who are SO material. One drives a Accord and the other drives a Ferrari. If you had to choose one, which one would you date. I suspect that 90+% of women would chose the Ferrari (I mean the guy with the Ferrari ) I posit that this is hard wired in the genes. Now, I am not suggesting that we are controlled by our genetic instincts, just influenced. A starting point, if you like.
