Really they are right there are two option IMO.. being a young guy in houston .. you either park by continental club in midtown and take the ensemble/hcc stop and there is a row of bars right there by continental club.. or if your in it for a huge crowd park preston and party down there are more then a few bars but its gonna be **** packed.. the only way i goto reliant during crowds is via rail.. Third option but less desirable is like park by the mcgowen stop and you can walk to maple leaf pub or back porch bar or whatever it is .. but its a much further walk..
There are tons of bars near the McGowan stop. Maple Leaf and Front Porch are two of the furthest places away from that particular stop. In fact, Maple Leaf is closer to the HCC/Ensemble stop. A bar doesn't have to be literally right in front of the rail stop (continental club, the mink, etc) to be accessible.
Last question, I promise. What's the best stop off the rail to the bars? Specifically, the flying saucer that someone mentioned earlier in the thread.
I'll mention this only because I expect there to be a lot of people parking downtown or near the bars where the rail line runs. I don't expect it to be easy to park down there this weekend, especially with the street closures (I'm just avoiding driving in that area). I plan on parking near the rail stop off Wheeler/Main, close to the Sears and Fiesta. I usually always find a spot there.
