You obviously can't look at pictures of someone when they are in there early twenties compared to today, but you can see a difference in bone size. His hands are much bigger now, and just look at that head. That's HGH. Bonds 2004
Bonds was a hall of famer before his alleged steroid use started in 1998. It might help the power numbers, but steroids can't help him with a good eye and patience, which he has always had. That being said, he's definitely a roid monster.
After he testified, he did. Also, McGwire is no longer playing. Why keep talking about him? Bonds is in spring training dressing up like a chick and has his own reality show, AND he's chasing the all-time HR mark. Why would anyone still be talking about McGwire? His story is finished.
Don't know if he 'deserves it more', but the implications of his and McGwire's cheating are greater than the others. Also, out of the three you mentioned, Bonds is the only one still playing.
how can you possibly say his hands or head are bigger looking at those 2 pictures? well i used to think bonds used steroids, but all you guys are starting to convince me the other way.............. plus he hit 46 homers in 1993. how could barry bonds possible hit 46 homers without using steroids!
TheFreak has had some great posts in this thread. About all I will say is that Bonds was going to be a Hall of Famer, no question about it even if he never took steroids. Why he would let a petty thing like McGwire having the home run record cause him to abuse his body like that is just senseless and reckless on his part, IMO. It is like a guy I work with said this morning...can you imagine how many homers Willie Mays or Ted Williams would have hit if they were on the juice?? I mean Bonds has great hand-eye coordination, maybe the best ever. But if his isn't the best, then it would be Ted Williams. And I just shudder to think how many homers that man would have hit if he was using peformance-enhancing drugs like steroids.
1. i don't know what Ted Williams was or wasn't using; 2. I don't know if pitchers were using stuff against Barry that they weren't using against Ted; 3. i'm not sure what Barry was using, exactly. all of it is assumption.
Because he is a hell of a hitter but the fact remains 43 and 70 aren't even in the same stratosphere.
Well you are right, Max but we also know that Ted Williams was never called before a grand jury to answer charges for using performance enhancing drugs and Ted also never admitted to a grand jury that he took them, either. We can't say the same for Bonds.
Damn, in those pictures above, Bonds' head in the second picture looks as big as his head PLUS batting helmet in the first.
According to the book, Bonds complained about eyesight issues and took steroids which improved his hand/eye coordination and ability to see the ball well.
