The people here tend to forget things in blind admiration.

when you are going to play out of position, or ride the bench, and you know your chances at even playing to your potential are being affected, then you demand a trade. ie steve francis

being a wuss... well tmac, davis. etc

Unless an organization is treating the player poorly, it's hard to justify too many trade "demands." I understand that a player has to look out for his own interests and management is just as self-protective as players, but a contract is a contract.

I, for one, don't think that Baron will be a good fit on the Rockets.

If you think that Steve was trigger-happy, go watch some Baron. The guy throws up some crazy threes.

completely agree, as nice as it is to have McGrady on the rockets line-up, it is fairly dodgy the way he was able to hold the Magic hostage.... all he has done is ensure there are less player opt outs in contracts

Geez guys, I know he and every other player signs contracts, but there's never any "no complaining clause" in them. I mean, it's a contract: if he doesn't play, he won't get paid right? (Am I right? I'm not sure, but I think that's how it goes right?) So why does everyone act like it's so bad to want to be on a good team?

Geez, this kinda turned into a Francis thread again. But anyways, players demanding a trade is getting ridiculous, I mean they signed a contract. Did everybody in the league see that the big ****** Shaq demanded and say to themselves "If the big guy can do it then why can't I?"

Hey, at least you're honest about it. I never liked the fact that Steve whinned his way out of Vancouver.

TMac did not demand to be traded if recall correctly. He just told Orlando he did not plan to return his option(next) year. He indicated that he would go to the Rox if Orlando didn't wish to lose him for nothing next year. That is different than demanding to be traded in the middle of your contract. I have no problem with what TMac did, he did the job the right way as far as I am concerned.

I am also glad he did.

Faced with the possibility that the Hornets could struggle to be a playoff contender in the Western Conference, point guard Baron Davis' agent Todd Ramasar said he has advised his client to explore his options.

One of those options could be a trade request, according to Ramasar. But Ramasar said Thursday night by telephone that Davis, a two-time All-Star, has not made that demand yet....

"Baron is not demanding a trade, but what he's looking for is needing more veteran leadership and having someone who is going to help him on the offensive end, especially next season," Ramasar said. "It's just a lot of burden to put on a point guard to be so productive."

he didnt officialy demand a trade yet:)

Do you not see a difference between TMac's, Stevie's, and Davis' position though? In two of the cases there was no contract or one year left on an option. In the other there was a 6 year contract that was recently signed by both parties in good faith. Please tell me you see the distinction...

Flat out, we don't need Baron. What's he going to give the team that Tmac won't have in spades. With Yao and Tmac, the last thing we need is another guy that needs the ball in order to be effective. We just need to surround out two stars with guys that can move without the ball or spot up effectively.

We don't need a guy who's biggest strength is either taking guys off the dribble or hanging around the perimeter and jacking up threes.

so would we if we are planning to throw Boki away like that!!!

but seriously as good as davis is, he has way to many injury questions for me to risk on trying to trade for him. Also i dont like how people think that he is loads better than francis, but thats just me. The injury problems concern me and the # of 3s he just jacked up last year was also a problem. the last thing we need on the rockets is baron davis. we have our team now, vastly different from last year any more 'star' egos will only hurt us.

lets just move on we got our backup C

    lets ball

This is one of the things that turns me against the NBA. I'm sick and tired of seeing these overpaid whiners who sign guaranteed contracts b****ing and moaning about their team. You signed a seven-year deal with that team! If you didn't want to stay there, don't take their fricking money! Davis signed a contract, what, a year ago? What a punk.
