Judging by his Chuckstradumbass (not to be confused be Nostradamus) level analysis on TNT. He is going to implode the first team he comes into contact to.
Hopefully he can get the Memphis job! Then we can get Rudy Gay back for a 2nd round pick. We can take advantage of Charles all day, Getter done Morey!
despite all signs suggesting otherwise, i get the feeling Barkley would make a decent GM. Not a lot of people will agree with me on this but, I think he evaluates players pretty accurately ...
I'd LOOOOOOVE to see Sir Charles GM a team, as long as that team isn't the Houston Rockets..maybe the Clips?
on a serious note, i think with guys like morey in the league, you're going to see a lot less former players who haven't been through the ranks get these jobs.
Barkley likes these jobs where he's in the public eye and gets to speak his mind. Where he gets to have the image of being an authoritative figure, when really there isnt much grunt activity in the role. Sometimes the guy up top is doing the least amount of work. Really dont we all want that...but with Barkley it almost seems like its shortcutting.
Barkley's Scouting Analysis of the 2009 Draft: 1 1 Griffin, Blake - "He can play a little bit." 1 2 Thabeet, Hasheem - "He a knucklehead." 1 3 Harden, James - "Knucklehead" 1 4 Evans, Tyreke - "Knucklehead" 1 5 Rubio, Ricky - "Knucklehead" 1 6 Flynn, Jonny - "Knucklehead" 1 7 Curry, Stephen - "Knucklehead just like his daddy." 1 8 Hill, Jordan - "Knucklehead" 1 9 DeRozan, DeMar - "Knucklehead" 1 10 Jennings, Brandon - "Knucklehead" 1 11 Williams, Terrence - "Knucklehead" 1 12 Henderson, Gerald - "Knucklehead" 1 13 Hansbrough, Tyler - "Knucklehead" 1 14 Clark, Earl - "Knucklehead" 1 15 Daye, Austin - "Knucklehead" 1 16 Johnson, James - "Knucklehead" 1 17 Holiday, Jrue - "Knucklehead" 1 18 Lawson, Ty - "Knucklehead" 1 19 Teague, Jeff - "Knucklehead" 1 20 Maynor, Eric - "Knucklehead" 1 21 Collison, Darren - "Knucklehead" 1 22 Claver, Víctor - "Knucklehead" 1 23 Casspi, Omri - "Knucklehead" 1 24 Mullens, B. Barkley came out and cried like a baby when Auburn didn't hire Turner Gill (currently 3-5), played some race card issues, and completely ignored Gene Chizik's (currently 1-loss) 2 back-to-back undefeated National Title seasons. The last time he judged talent he literally wound up having to kiss Kenny's ass. But I would love to see him manage a team. Preferably the Jazz if possible.
Another Isiah Thomas. Do anyone notice that retired nba players that were good players often make bad GM. Even though Joe Dumars isn't that bad but he isn't as good as Morey.
Wow. My love for clutchfans grows daily. Charles Barkley once said he would like a team of 'Pitbulls' -Ron Artest -Himself -Etc.
Barkley doesn't want to be... 1) sober 2) skinny 3) a non-gambler 4) quiet 5) contesting game winning 3pters. 6) reasonable 7) sane
I totally agree that Barkley could be a good GM; he's proven time and time again that he follows the NBA intensely, always keeping track of offseason player movement. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mheY4aC9s5A&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mheY4aC9s5A&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Sir Charles has also proven to be a master in getting to know international players, in particular, learning how to say their names properly. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/g4xdIncF1Ag&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/g4xdIncF1Ag&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> And of course, his skill at scouting top overall picks is the stuff of legend: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SOK0mVRPfdk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SOK0mVRPfdk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Who wants to start the petition to bring back Barkley to Houston? I'm sure he'd have traded Battier for expirings, signed Von Wafer, pulled a "Major League" and forced the team to tank -8 games into the season for an inknown commodity who's already facing eligibility issues.
Let's bring Barkley in. Who needs Morey anyway? Barkley can evaluate talent so much better. He knows how to manage the cap and keep us out of the luxury tax while still getting us quality players. hahahaha...maybe not.
