The Rockets will make the playoffs with or without Barkley.

It would be great to see CB back, but don't u think all the merry making has made him tip the scales? In my mind, it would be swell to see him come back as a coach-player ( NOT player-coach ). He could school the youngsters and maybe put in some minutes during the 4th quarter or garbage time. I don't think he can ever get back into shape to bang around and mess with the big boys like he used to.

I think Charles would be PERFECT for San Antonio. He would give them a scorer, rebounder, and an experienced veteran off the bench. They play the perfect style for Charles, and he wouldn't have to play any more then 20 to 25 minutes, YET would make a big influence and big impact on that team. He would also add depth to the Spurs, something they need. I think San Antonio is the best team in the NBA, and adding a guy like Charles Barkley would help them even more. It would be nice to see Chuck get a ring, even if it's just to rub it in the face of Jazz fans! [IMG]

Supposedly, Tiger, Jordan, and Charles were golfing in the Bahamas a month ago together. Tiger told Butch Harmon (his coach) that Jordan and Charles were talking about making a come back together next year to try to help the Wizards win. I was thinking how cool it would be if that would happen and the Wizards would sign Hakeem. MJ and Chuck were joking that they still could show all these young showboats how it was done. What do you guys think? Maybe that is why Chuck is trying to get back into shape.

Is Barkley even continuing to work out in some form? I mean, I know he put on some weight, but is he doing any sort of training at the moment? Getting his body back into the necessary condition would be a hard hill to climb if he isnt already doing some major work outs. I'd love to see chuck play again. But it would just be too sad to see a winded, out of shape legend, grabbing the bottom of his shorts as he is showered with cheers based soley on nostalgia.

Charles said he was working with two or three personal fitness trainers and nutrionist, so he seems to be serious.

I cast my vote for a CB4 Farewell Tour 2001-2002. Realistically, Charles has all the fame and fortune a reasonabe man would want so the missing motivational ingrediant is the Ring he doesn't have. I am an optimist and there are a combination of circumstances (the Rocks finishing this season VERY strong, emergence of Cato, Dream signing for the Veteran Minimum, inability to resign Mo T, a trade involving KT leaving us short at PF, lucky Lotto balls turning an 11th seed into a Top 3 pick of a C or SF, etc) which could/would make Sir Charles a viable option.

While I'm not a big Spurs fan, Charles getting a ring with SA as Duncan's backup is preferable to a Faker$ repeat. Actually, the Spurs with the Chuckster is preferable to any of the current playoff group. But he'd better start getting in shape for this REAL soon!!!

ROFL... ummm... any of you happen to notice the DATE on Freak's original post? [IMG]

Unfortunately, it looks like the odds of Barkley's farewell 2000-2001 season tour are fading quickly...

Heh... thanks for the memories Freak....

Why would the Chuckster come back? He's making lots of money working for TNT. And its an easy job. He was able to go out on his own terms. He's way overweight right now, and would take alot of effort to get anywhere close to playing shape. And he's got that Alabama gubenatorial campaign to consider.
