Can you imagine what this is going to do for the ratings? I bet Barkley ends up being well compensated for kissing Kenny's ass.
That's what I was thinking......that they'll probably bring out a life sized poster of Kenny (clothed) so that Chuck can kiss it. Maybe one of Yao as well (the surprise?). It certainly won't be as funny/enjoyable to watch, for Rocket fans,as the literal payoff would be,but it's certainly in better taste and more appropriate for network TV.
Free Agent. Even though he only had one good game he's too big and too SKILLED to not be a force! I'll say, ALL-ROOKIE TEAM. I'll go out on a limb and say, ROOKIE OF THE YEAR. I'll say that 14+ points will be common (common, not PPG). I'll say that he will score 30 points before the year is over! The guy has only has 33 FGA. Only 9 FTA. And we know, very low on MPG. Even though Drew Gooden is averaging 15+ PPG. It wont matter. Talk to me and the end of the year! This guy is not just BIG, he's SKILLED!
OMG, a flash of brilliance just hit me on what song they should play during Barkley's half-time debacle on Thursday. They should play that song "A moment like this" from the American Idol winner. I would not care how things went down because the song would make the skit so funny. That song would fit incredible into what Charles has to do to live up to his side of the Yao Ming bet... http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/kellyclarkson/amomentlikethis.html -KELLY CLARKSON LYRICS- "A Moment Like This" [American Idol show version] What if I told you It was all meant to be Would you believe me, Would you agree It's almost that feelin' That we've met before So tell me that you don't think I'm crazy When I tell you love has come and now... A moment like this Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Some people search forever, For that one special kiss Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Everything changes But beauty remains Something so tender I can't explain Well I maybe dreamin' But 'till I awake Can we make this dream last forever And I'll cherish all the love we share For a moment like this Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Some people search forever, For that one special kiss Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Could this be the greatest love of all I wanna know that you will catch me when I fall So let me tell you this... Some people wait a lifetime For a moment like this Some people spent two lifetimes, For a moment like this Some people search forever, For that one special kiss Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this OHHHH, LIKE THIS OHHHH, YEAH, 'cuz people search for every moment yeah. Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this. Ohhhhh, like this.
Never heard of it. But seriously, that would be the most embarrassing to Sir Charles to have to not only kiss whatever Kenny brings to the table, but also have to do it while the world listens to this song. That would take the cake. But hey, I am easily entertained. It would break the silence at least...
Doin' the Butt. owww Sexy, Sexy Aint' nothin' wrong If you wanna do the Butt All night long Eee-yay-eee-yay-eee Eee-yay-eee-yeah
For anyone at home. Charles is on CNN's TalkBack Live and it is a commercial break right now. But in a few minutes he is going to talk about tomorrow night. I will get back with the scoop in a second.
The host just announced the bet to the audience. Then they showed clips of Charles on TNT that night opening his big mouth, and telling Kenny Yao would not get 19 points this whole season. Then she said are you going to live up to the bet? She made fun of him in another remark that I can't recall. Charles was blushing because this is national tv, and his political aspirations are on the line because he wants to run for governor. So after a few seconds of actually pondering something intelligent to say, he spoke some profound words as only Sir Charles can do: "Hey, the guy only averages 2 points a game. Anyway, I am happy for the guy. Yes, I am a man of my word, so all of you watch the show on Thursday night at 7pm Eastern. " Then he ducked his head in embarrassment after he had visions of all of this going down. Johnie Cochran, OJ's attorney just happened to be the other special guest for the show. He said he would watch without a doubt.
I would guess half-time of the Rockets/ Mavericks game but who knows. Charles said 7 pm EST because that is when his show "Listen Up" comes on, but that was probably just a plug. Nobody is going to be watching his show so I would bet it to be at halftime.
I, too, am wondering... At what time, and on what station(s) will the Barkley 'event' take place? OOPS - someone just posted the answer to this. Nevermind. -- droxford
I heard Barkley on the ESPN Dan Patrick show today. He told the "real" story of how the bet came about. According to Chuck, he and Kenny were argueing about Yao during a commercial break. Barkley said something along the lines of "I will suck your **** if Yao scores 19 in a game". On the radio show today Barkley didn't say those exact words of course but said something along the lines of "performing sexual favors". Anyway...they came back from the commercial and Kenny immediately put Barkley on the spot and said "are we gonna bet" or something like that...Barkley, having to put up or shut up made the "I'll kiss your ass..." statement. Pretty damn funny.
