I don't know this upsets anyone. We're really bad this year. I don't care how much heart this team plays with. We have a bunch of better than average role players and no stars. That isn't going to win many games. Now consider for a second how bad we'll be if a few of our guys go down with injuries for any substantial amount of time. I don't expect us to have a worse record than Minnesota or Sacramento, but I think it's possible if things don't go our way.

    I agree, see my sig
But in REALITY, for the foreseeable future it should read more like this.

    Houston Rockets
Yao Ming, out for the year!
MeMac, SheMac, KneeMac, Who knows? Who cares?
A ton of heart does not equal many wins.

It's time... to be real about the situation!

This is not a Debbie Downer post, I think we have a roster full of good, mostly younger role players, championship level role players but together and alone they are not going to crack 35 wins this season. That folks, is reality; mark it down put it on the bulletin boards at Toyota Center, whatever you gotta do but it is an almost certain reality at this point.

I'd say he didnt account for McGrady possibly coming back which messes up his analysis. BUT, Long time ago but McGrady in his prime still led the Magic to pretty much the worst record in the league... I dont think he'll give this team an .800 record when he's in or anything. But hey after 1 GAME thats his viewpoint. The Cavaliers will lose out the rest of their games and fall out of contention

Man I can't believe so many get worked up over Charles "Burger Monster" Barkleys comments. This guy contridicts himself every other
week! He's there for jokes and not analyzing.

Every year he picks Utah to go to the finals, as well as San Antonio. Nuff said!

I mean last night they were laughing at him because he was on national TV with a coat and slacks on and his tennis shoes were untied! LOL!!

In last years playoffs he also was pulling for the Rockets and said it was his favorite team to watch until they got eliminated.

So c'mon people dont let "Donut King" yank our chain--just sit back and laugh.

We had Yao in the playoffs (til the end).

This means that Charles is YOC, Yao Only Chuckster!

This is a funnier comment than what Barkley said. You realize we signed Ariza for midlevel money? If all he did was play up to what he did last year, he'd be worth the contract. It's not expected that he become a featured player, it's something you hope for with someone who's only 23 and has his athleticism. It's doubtful that he becomes that but it's a no-brainer that he lives up to the role player contract he got. In that regard it makes little sense that anyone would "hate" this signing.

I don't get the big deal on what he said. It's his opinion and it doesn't effect what happens on the court.

The team will have to just prove him wrong. Simple as that.

if tracy can return to 20/5/5 form (again, a huge if), we'll win around 60% of our games. remember, we have WAY more shooters than years' past and all of the big men outside of hayes/pops can shoot the ball, which makes playing the pick and roll that much easier for tmac.

but our season long problem (and where we will desperately miss yao and deke) is on the boards.

as i have said, we'll be fine defensively without yao. the blazers shot only 42%. but despite the good defense, we couldn't rebound the ball to save our lives.

He's exaggerating as usual but if Tracy doesn't return, Ariza doesn't have a break-out year, the Rockets do not get a real center, Brooks keep running the chicken with his head cut off play everytime we might end up at the bottom.

Many 'experts' think the rockets should tank. But it seems Adelman and Morey think different. From their inverviews, they prefer our young players to have playoffs experience even though they might get limited in the 1st round. When Yao comes back next season, our team will be ready to contend.

60% of 82 is 49. I.e., we'll be battling for the 8th spot. That's roughly what I think, even if Tracy doesn't get to the 20/5/5.

I'd rather we shoot for the highest lottery pick we can get. It's all about the next year, anyhow.

that's considering we don't pick up a true big man to help us out. if we do that, we'll be even better.

like i said, defensively, we'll be fine. offensively, we'll improve and improve even more when tracy returns.

we have to fix the rebounding. if we don't, we might just be in the lottery.

Tracy's a great player (or, was), but I'm not sure he made the Rockets better, once they started surrounding him with pretty decent players. They tended to just stand around and watch him. If he has to be the star of the show, he's worth a lot more as an expiring contract, but if we can use him how and when we need him (and he'll go along with being a role player), he can be very useful.

Minnesota could potentially have been a mid 30 win team before the Kevin Love/Big Al injuries.

Kings have put together a GREAT young nucleus. Thompson and Hawes are going to have breakout seasons, and not to mention Kmart is back and Tyreke has been looking good in the preseason.

    Just saying.
