I remember a book out a few years ago, pre-Rockets. It was nothing but Barkley quotes. If I can find a link I'll post it.

For most of his playing years after he left Philly, Chuck was in good shape. He shed all the extra pounds. He did have some problems reporting to training camps here and there over his playing weight, but I don't remember a season where he was FAT since Philly.

No, he was never muscular or cut, but he was within his playing weight for the most part.

He does look big now. But maybe he looks that big because he is sitting next to SKINNY Kenny Smith.

I saw the Chuckster on the Golf Channel last weekend, and they were analyzing his swing. The moderator had asked the golf pro about changing a swing for a "bigger man." The pro looked like he was scared sh*tless given the underhanded remark - but Barkley assured him that it was ok to call him fat, because he is. (So Old School, your assessment agrees with Charles' own.)

Barkley explained that he swore to himself that he wouldn't do any physical activity for six months after retiring. Therefore, he would not exercise until January.

Gotta love a man who will stay committed to his promise. [IMG]
