With so many confusing Rudy's five man offense with a motion or passing offense I think this is a quote that they should read.

I believe Rudy intends the other players to crash the boards, move with out the ball and setting picks.

If Steve Francis is scoring 30 game shooting better than 50% from the floor then I think people are wrong for wanting him to take fewer shots. Against Seattle Steve sat out most of the second and a big part of the third quarters due to foul problems. Is there a coincedence that those were the two quarters that the Rockets were outscored?

Steve took 1 shot more than Gary Payton while playing 5 minutes less.

Cuttino took only 4 shots more than Rashard Lewis while playing 10 minutes more.

The big difference between the Rockets distribution of the ball and Seattle's is that we had a 3rd player take a large amount of shots.

Eddie Griffin took 15 shots (as he should have) when the Sonics did not have a third players take as many as 10 shots.

It seems to me that the shots are not being distributed as un-fairly as many suggest.

    MemphisX -
While I agree Steve is not a Stockton type guard, are you suggesting he is Jordan and should take Jordan's same number of shots per minute?

In the '92-'93 season, Jordan took 2003 shots (the second most in his career). This computes to .653 shots per minute. Steve Francis is currently running at .551 shots per minute. Based on Francis's current 38.5 mpg, that's 25 shots for Jordan and 21 for Steve (remember - the comparison is based upon Jordan's second highest season of shots).

Just my opinion, but yes - I for one do want Eddie Griifin shooting the ball more often than Ho Grant. And some day in the near future, I want Yao Ming shooting more often that Luc Longley and Bill Wennington.

The one on one play is just a reflection of today's young players. What a shame how some players don't respect the game. I recall several years ago during an all star game where Kobe brushed off Karl Malone when he was trying to set him a pick. I couldn't believe Kobe had the nerve to basically tell Malone to get out of his way. I know the game was meaningless but what complete selfishness and lack of respect.

Read my above post. Francis doesn't need to be taking nearly as many shots per minute as MJ in his prime.

Let me remind you for the second time - the Rockets were up by one at the half but when Steve Francis left with his 4th foul in Q3 the Rox were down by 9.

He (and Cuttino) totally dominated the ball in that 10 point swing - there was a bailout pass late in the clock to Hawk, a tip in by Griffin and a poor Alley Ooop to Cato. Those were the only non-SF/Cat touches before Francis went to the bench. During the 10 point swing, Cuttino was 0-4 and Peja Drobnjak was 4-4 (after an 0-5 first half).

You are guilty of selective perception. :D

Ok, I KNOW a guy who claimed "enourmous amounts of Motion" out of last years team (and the year before) isnt questioning someone else as to whether or not they are "actually" watching the games.

No one should be surprised by these comments, except the Kenny comment about Yao, because:

    1) Barkley and Kenny are speaking the truth
    2) Barkley tried to get this through to Francis and Mobley in his last season here and they blew him off.

Oh and Heb, put me on your team! You know that I am a big Barkley and Heb fan!:p

"Was I talking to you" is a stupid question on a message board, because by default, you are not talking to one person only, but to all who can read it. If you only want to talk to one person, use e-mail.

I wasn't being the PC police, I was just genuinely wondering what the hell it has to do with Mormons.

and SJC laying down the law! ooh burned, court adjourned! you're in contempt heypartner!

and by the way, I was at a b-day party at a bar on Tues that was playing the game. The Rocket isopopes were just tag-alongs to a good Seattle game; iow .|..   ..|.

In closing, watching a rockets game goes something like:

(after watching the first quarter) me: "whoa, Steve and Cuttino can score."
(after watching the second quarter) me: "whoa, only Steve and Cuttino score"

(crash, it sucks you called that hand, btw)

Why not? He is leading the Rockets in FG% although his turnovers are a bit high. The thing I don't understand is why you would want Ming or Griffin taking shots at this point in their career. I like their potential but this is not the year. Matter of fact, for selfish reasons, I would prefer you guys depend more on Ming and Griffin this year as it would increase the chances of us getting a lottery pick from you guys. If Francis was going Iverson but his % is good, and is giving out almost 6 assists per game. He started out the season on fire and you guys shoulld ride it for as long as it lasts.

Sometimes I think that Rudy really doesn't know how to implement
    a motion-offense.

He's been so used to ISOs and center dominated offense that it's
    really not his forte.

Maybe Rudy should hire someone that knows about team oriented/motion offenses.

    Heb,

it would appear Crash is going to be our super 6th man

Rockhead use your photoshop skills to create a IsoPopes Logo

Side B, will never win, they will just sit on the bench, debating, arguing and heckling each other, they are all better known for their mouths than there games, beside Mrs Rice will cause Chuck to explode and will also give Pip a Migraine and as for Kenny we will just bring in J Timberlake or Ed to wipe the floor with him again.
