That same Lakers that just lost to Sactown less than a week ago in LA is his pick over Rockets. Yup! Chuck is suffering from major dillusion and failure.

I think your missing my point

I'm definately not hating on players of the past, I think there are some great players who just aren't as great as people think they are. There are also some really good players who are better than what people think they are.

There will be a time where people don't understand how good Baron Davis. How good Shawn Kemp was. How good James Worthy was. How about Kevin McHale, Nate Archibald.

50 years from now people in houston might not remember Tracy Mcgrady but I think he is better than some SG's that are etched in history.

Not arguing that these guys aren't great but I still think that people don't want to acknowledge that the league gets better collectively all the time.

What did Wilt do that the Dream couldn't?

Wilt was actually a great overall athlete for his size. he ran track at Kansas.
the league isn't getting better collectively. it was better than a few years back. also keep in mind the more teams, the more diluted the talent.

also, the league might be 'better' cause david stern has the 17 year old age minimum. remember how crap the league got cause of all these kids thinking they are kobe or lebron. experience is a good thing not a bad thing. so if a player gets one year in college to mature his skills and himself, then that's better for the league.

this year is exciting because of the competitiveness of the west and the rebirth of an old powerhouse the celtics.

He overrates the Lakers, too... everyone does.

They really have not proven a single thing that we haven't... but they have a prettier roster on paper since most of their talent is concentrated into two or three players, so they get a lot of credit.

i agree there was a time where there were garbage players who shouldn't be in the nba playing and there still are quite a few. By 'better' i didn't mean that everysingle player was better, in fact, i think the disparity between the best and the worst in the league is big and will only get bigger. Guys, now more than ever, are in the league for a specific trait (height, atheleticism, defense) while there are much better players playing elswhere. i guess i know no one ever agrees on this conversation or the college conversation with me, i have noticed that people get quite hostile when it comes to these topics. I just want to touch on a few smaller issues before i end this discussion.

Wilt had superior atheleticism for his time but he wouldn't have those same advantages playing in a much more atheletic league. Don't forget the offensive goaltending tip that was actually a big part of his game.

Wilt was a superior athelete for his time but you can not disagree with the fact that atheleticism definately improves over the years (part of the reason there was such an influx of mediocre talent at one time, guys were great atheletes who didn't have a clue). If you look at some guys who are atheletic for our time, Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemire, no one in those times were fast enough or strong enough to handle them, even Wilt would be overwhelmed.

Hahahha Charles you are amazing guy. I still remember Dallas game I still remember post game show. But yes Rockets showed whan they can do, Tracy showed he is not a 'ball stopper' which is the funniest quote.

You just hate Rockets but you see you are're nor right. Just stop hatin', give some respect for team which has won 20 in a row, that's all.

No offense intended on Hakeem meant, but Chamberlain is the only player in the history of the league to lead the ENTIRE LEAGUE in Points, PPG, Rebounds, and ASSISTS. Blocked shots could be added to this list but they didn't count them back in the day. Yes he led the NBA in assists one year.
As for weak centers, he played against Nate Thurmond, Walt Bellamy, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Bob Lanier, Wes Unseld, Willis Reed and Bob McAdoo just to name a few.
A famous saying is no-one knows how dumb you are until you open your mouth (or in this case blog), consider yourself informed.
