when players screw teams over its just business, but when teams screw over players its unfair players can change their minds but teams cant even if they get fat and lazy
Sorry Tinman, I'm usually with you but I don't get your Barkley crusade. Sure, he was fun to have around in his playing days and I appreciate what he gave us, but his actions and words since then about the Rockets have all but erased those good memories. The guy is the opposite of class and I'm actually a little embarrassed he ever played for us now. You fight some good fights but this isn't one of them.
Because if you search Clutchfans everytime Barkley says something there's a thread about or fans are talking about it. If you don't want to be on this thread, nobody asked you to join. This is for the real fans who care about Rockets history from the beginning to the current state
The 99ers are definitely not poor. We don't watch the Rockets on those illegal russian sites like the 2012ers
Clutch fans have spoken, Les beats Cuban despite 99ers putting forth their best Cuban is GOAT case. 2 rings > 1 ring.
Ah so you only started watching the Rockets when Barkley joined.... now this makes sense. Barkley is the 99ers beginning....
Les in the past has had many questionable decisions such as making our uniforms ugly . Les should be thankful for Barkley cause the rockets were immediately getting national tv spots.
One thing I love about these fake fans is they love to bump my threads. Keep bumping like it's an r Kelly song
Words don't change history just feelings The rockets have been messy with players and coaches leaving Under the table or in writing , losing 4 million dollars is tough
Barkley helped us finally beat the Sonics and they were the most hated team for us in the 90's, even the Jazz/Spurs came second to them. We traded two fan favorites in Horry/Cassell just to get Barkley and the reason we made this trade was to beat Seattle. Barkley made good on that promise and was a key ingredient there so as a fan I appreciate that. It's unfortunate that we were never able to win the ship with that team, but we came very close to it and many thought of us as the only team that could have a chance to beat Chicago at that time. I don't know what sort of under the table collusion Les had with Barkley, but it seems like they were able to hash it out.
The newer fans don't really know what rivalry is about. Rockets vs Sonics was a big one. They were our nemesis, plus George Karl kept playing illegal defense on every play. The article I posted was very relevant especially how the Joe Smith deal was punished by the NBA. If the Rockets did that, it would put them in a no win situation because of what happened to Minnesota
No sympathy for Barkley. I like his character for saying whatever he wants, but this money issue is just plain idiotic. He lives in a freaking mansion, is currently getting paid just to talk. I don't think he has any ideas on X and Os, he would never be a coach because he would get in trouble for hitting his players and talking too much. Thank god he wore the red, white, blue uniform because he doesn't belong to the red, white, yellow.
I always got the impression from Barkley, that when he came to Houston he felt like he was a big fish in a little pond. Of course, it makes no sense being that we already had two great players, one much greater than him and we had just won 2 championships. He ALWAYS had a huge ego, I was able to overlook that when he produced on the court, getting past the Sonics that year was probably the 3rd best moment the Rockets had in the 90s behind the championships. All that said, I like the past players who pay respect to their past teams, can come back to games and get a standing ovation, be honored, have their jersey retired etc. That shows that the player had respect and appreciation for more than just the team, but the fans and the city. Since he left, Barkley has routinely proven that he had zero respect for the team, the fans, or the city of Houston. He doesn't seem to have a problem doing it for Philly or Phoenix, the Houston fans shouldn't pay the price for a money squabble between millionaires.
you are DEFINITELY NOT A ROCKETS FAN posting Pippen highlights on the GARM? Most Rockets fans would go Vernon Maxwell on you
