Barkley: Camby Should Be Starting All-Star Center Over Yao

Don't even bother. Yao's a 20+ pts, 10+ rbs, 50%+ fg, 80%+ ft, 2+ blk, 2+ ast player, for Pete's sake!! How many players in the L are in that club? Not many, I'll bet. If you don't respect that game, then there's nothing to talk about.

I agree it is culture not racial. Not one of my black friends likes Yao, not one.
However, I don’t consider these men to racist.
I think Americans in general have a hard time understanding "where" Yao comes from.

He said his coaches and culture says, never dunk on a man, it will demoralize him......Americans cant understand that....Heck, we would kick him while he was down there to win.

You're misunderstanding what it means to dislike Yao for racial reasons. Just because they're not racist doesn't mean that they can't dislike Yao because he's Chinese.

 

isn't race part of culture though? i don't understand why some are so scared or shy away from saying something was/is racial. that doesn't make someone a racist.

i just hate the "political correct" stuff.

many biased treatment on and off the court that yao has been suffering since he entered the nba and will suffer in the future, in my mind, are clearly race-based; so in my book, they are "racial".

is barkley a racist (in a conventional sense)? i have no way to know. are some of his comments of yao based on racial difference? of course they are, if you ask me.

 

Barkley is hilarious. Actually he respects Yao, but I think he just likes to cause trouble.

But in fairness, Camby is playing awesome - Defensive player of the year numbers - and definitely see this as a way of charles paying his respects to camby.

Is charles a racist? Sure....but so is everyone and i don't think he's picking on yao because of race, but rather becuase of how yao looks on the court.

 

Just prepare a donkey for Charles - if he wanna bet again...

 

Chucky Cheese was so blind that he didn't realize Yao was double & triple teamed most of time while getting his 20+ points per game.

this year... I was really interested in the match up between Howard and Yao...
