Would you rather have Jabari Smith or Reed Sheppard or Tari Eason? If you're going to do opportunity costs of Jabari that's more likely what keeping him is going to cost.....and not whatever your opinion on Banchero or Holmgren or Jalen Williams or Jalen Duren or anyone else from the 22 draft is

I get your point, but my point was one of those contracts is a bad contract and one is a good contract. Retain your talent at good value and the contract is tradeable. Can we agree the Rockets will have more options with Tari and Sheppard than the Magic will with Black and Richardson?

Yeah, I understand the sticker shock because salaries have grown so much around the league, but as a percentage of cap it's a normal amount of money for a 4th/5th starter on a playoff team to make in today's NBA, unless they're still on their original rookie contract. Jabari is right in the middle of the pack of those guys for both pay and performance. And he's still only 22, so theoretically has more room to grow than most of those players.

Bari will always be a role player but he is still young and doing ok. He will get better. I do not think Banchero fits with this team so I am not sorry about missing out on hm. I would have preferred to get Chet in that draft but he was gone when we made our pick. A team can have only so many stars and we have Alpi and Amen as current/future stars and it looks like Reed may very well be added to them. We need role players and Bari seems like a great 3 & D role player.

I'm liking JSJ a lot more this season than in the past. In the past, his value seemed to be 3-point shooting, help defense as the low man, and switching with Sengun to keep Sengun closer to the basket. When his 3-point shot wasn't falling, he wasn't providing much value. His POA defense looks better, but still not great for smaller players. He has gotten a lot better at punishing teams for putting smaller players on him. My big issue right now is that I think he's wasting a decent amount of value when he will get a smaller player on him away from the basket, but still takes the shot even though he's not gotten into a deep position or able to get to a deep position. I think this will improve and I'm very happy with the improvement so far.

Had we gone with Banchero, Sengun probably wouldn't be the player he is now. Even so, I'm sure plenty of fans would still choose Banchero as the focal point. Jabari may not be the perfect fit, but I'd still prefer him over Banchero.

You can't have 5 20+ PPG scorers in your starting lineup. Someone has to take a backseat and that someone is Jabari.

He's neither a star nor a scrub. He's a good role player and a big part of why we're a good team.

I see no lies here. Move the team to Louisville and save us from this mess.
