Mine was down to my lower back from around 1990 until 2000 when I cut it right up to my shoulders. Mind you, it isn't really SHORT or anything. I just wanted something more layered and less heavy metal-ish. It was wierd at first after all those years of wearing it long, but I liked the change. I haven't been to Eddie in about 8 months though and my hair grows fast so it is already between my shoulder blades. If I were ever honestly losing my hair, I've always said that, the minute it became REALLY noticable (i.e. big time receding hair line), I'd just go Telly Savalas and shave it off. No sense in putting off the inevitable. Funny thing, though. They say you get your hair from your maternal grandfather but mine was already going bald at 19. He lost most of his hair by the age of 25. Everyone else on his side of the family and my father's side as well had full heads of hair. My dad is just NOW getting some grey in his hair and he turned 62 yesterday! He could probably grow his hair as long as mine now if he wanted to. Wierd.
That would explain mine then. My maternal g-father had close to a full head of hair when he died.. but my paternal had been wearing rugs from the time he was in his mid-40's. if you combine the two, you get me..alittle receding..a small thin spot at the top.. I'll probably let mine grow back out alittle, I actually miss having it to my sholders. I wonder if I can get a net admin job where they will allow that?
