Call me when Obama starts putting meat on the bones. When he starts making people uncomfortable by taking stands on hard issues, I'll pay more attention. Right now he is honeymooning and I have no problem with that. The super-intense frenzy about it is annoying though. I wonder how long he and his handlers will wait before defining him more clearly. If the public continues to eat him up indefinitely they might try to ride the wave all next year. If (and only if) the Republicans decide Obama is the candidate they do not want to face, look for them to stick labels on him which will force him out. To anyone that's on the bandwagon now, just know he won't be going out on any limbs soon. Style and rhetoric, not substance, is all you're going to get for a while. Don't bother hanging on every word; it's a waste of time. The fact there is a huge groundswell of initial support for a black candidate for president is a great thing for the country whether he fizzles out or not. It's progress. But if he's the real deal and makes it to the general election, we will find out a lot about this country in the 08 election. Some of it may be disturbing.
Well this certainly is interesting that Hussein Obama would pattern his wardrobe after Ahmadinejad. It's almost as if he idolizes him. Has anyone actually confirmed Hussein Obama's religion? Name sounds Muslim. Bottom line is that Hussein Obama only has 2 years of experience in the Senate. He's a rookie, plain and simple.
And you're a bigot, plain and simple. I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes And just for that one moment I could be you Yes, I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes You'd know what a drag it is To see you D&D. Wipe Your Shoes.
His father was a Muslim who ended up abandoning his faith for atheism, and Hussein Obama has admitted that he has "a healthy skepticism" for organized religion. This, in combination with his pro-abortion stance, makes me pause. It should also be noted that Hussein Obama attended a Muslim school when growing up. I think this is what fuels the rumor that he actually is Muslim.
There is no such rumor. But I love that his race, his name and a made up "rumor" (link?) about his religious faith which he has spoken extensively to are the best you can do. You racist dick. By the way, did you happen to catch the standing ovation he got at the Evangelical mega church a week or two ago? That was awesome.
You are probably lying. Here are his actual views which run counter to anything a true Christian believes: In 2006, he followed through by voting against the Federal Marriage Amendment. “Personally, I do believe that marriage is between a man and a woman,” he said, as he voted against defining marriage as between a man and a woman. Obama has similarly hedged his pro-choice rhetoric, while consistently supporting the pro-choice cause. As a state senator in Illinois he twice voted “present” on an Illinois ban on partial-birth abortion and was “absent” on a third vote. In 2001, he voted “present” on a parental notification bill for minors and in 2002 he voted against a bill to protect babies that survived failed abortions. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=18397 JUST ANOTHER LIBERAL (but one who attended a Muslim school)
His view on AIDS does not, which is why he was invited to Warren's church for the conference and got the ovation. In fact, Warren's wife was who invited him.
I'd rather elect a fake Muslim than a fake Christian who claims his God told him to invade Iraq and kneel to corporate interests.
via TMP -- It turns out that Jeff Greenfield isn't the only one at CNN connecting Senator Barack Obama to Muslim extremists on the basis of his name. Jeanne Moos is doing it, too, and she has some handy split-screen effects: She's displayed Obama in split screens with not one, but two of America's leading Middle Eastern nemeses, Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/whK4515vD3Q"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/whK4515vD3Q" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> tj doesn't it make you cream?
What respect I had left for CNN is quickly going in the crapper. Unreal. D&D. Standing Tall in the Shadows.
Jeanne Moos has always done silly tongue-in-cheek pieces - it's her niche. I don't think you are supposed to take any of her stuff seriously. An example is below: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Iq15bufF3VY"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Iq15bufF3VY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
This after you slander Obama by suggesting he's lying about his faith based on a "rumor" that has not appeared anywhere more credible than in your posts (and, man, that's saying something). For the third time, can you post a link about this "rumor" or is this just your usual slanderous, xenophobic, bigoted bull****? p.s. He did get the ovation. Unlike yours, my posts are based on facts. http://www.faithinpubliclife.org/content/news/2006/12/aids_fight_needs_churches_obam.html "Some conservatives, offended by Obama's support for legal abortion, had called on the mega-church's pastor, Rick Warren, to rescind his invitation to the senator. Yet Obama drew a standing ovation from the 2,072 pastors and others who came from 39 states and 18 nations to explore church solutions to the AIDS pandemic, which has killed 25 million people worldwide."
