Hmmm... still pondering it, giddy. D&D. When in Danger or in Doubt, Run in Circles... Scream & Shout.
the debate, and the introduction of George Felix Allen "jew boy" into the race, was on September 18. why then are there still references to george felix allen on webbforsenate.com?
Oh, you stinker! Lordy but you guys do love moving goalposts! The name doesn't have Jewish connotations, you freak! That's been established again and again, primarily by Sam but by others too. And your proof that it does is that his Jewish grandfather happened to have that name? ONCE AGAIN, since you are so very dim, the ONLY way to argue that the insinuation in using the name Felix was that he was Jewish is if the people using it even freaking KNEW he had Jewish roots when they started using it!!! You, um, hilariously dumb man... Are you suggesting: A. "George Felix Allen" was not used prior to September 18? Or... B. That the users of it time travelled into the past once they realized he had Jewish roots so that they could mock that imminently Jewish name? You blow my mind, dude.
i know you're not really this obtuse, but i'll spell it out for you again, and i'll use your supposed timeline to humor you, just so you have it all in one place: Webb had been calling Allen "George Felix Allen, Jr." for months Webb is a self-styled "redneck" On 10/18 a questioner points out the Allen's GF was named Felix and was jewish Allen responds angrily, pointing out that ones religion had no part in the race. Webb continued to refer to Allen as "George Felix Allen, Jr.", and to this day refers to him on his webb-site in those terms. olbermann and batman go bat**** crazy when a similarly bat**** crazy republican has the temerity to use BalaCk Hussein Osama's real, full, name on television. is that accurate? how is one different from the other?
Batman, you are Jewish? I just today learned this. Do you feel as though Barack Obama could represent a threat to the Jewish community?
My "supposed" timeline? Is that like when you quoted "beautiful girlfriend" to suggest she was ugly and/or a man? Thanks for the favor of using the actual timeline as it occurred on Earth and not the fantasy one that occurred in your head -- a place where Felix was a name made up by Democrats to suggest Jewy-ness and America is winning the war in Iraq. You're the best. Why, in the name of Yahweh, would Webb stop using the name Felix on the day that it was pointed out that his Jewish grandfather had the same name? Don't you understand that were he to do that he would look almost as stupid as you do now? If he were to do that, it would suggest that using the name Felix (not Rosenberg - freaking FELIX!) would somehow be insensitive to Jews because one Jew was once named Felix. This is the whole lesson here, basso. You're mixed up here: Jim Webb isn't an idiot; you are. Do you get it now? Let's recap though. After insisting repeatedly that Democrats invented the name Felix and that it wasn't Allen's middle name (Where did you get that idea? Nobody knows. You refused all requests for a link or any sort of proof.), you finally acknowledge that you were wrong. It takes links and links and posts and posts from people here with no rebuttal other than "nuh unh!" from you, but you finally acknowledge it. Then you suggest that it's still a Dem baddie since they were using the name to point out his Jewishness. Leaving out how stupid it is to ascribe Jewishness to a Latin name, leaving out how when Americans or Virginians or Earthlings of any stripe think Latino when they hear Felix and not Jew for now, I point out to you that it is totally freaking impossible in the physical world of reality for people to use the name Felix to tar Allen as a Jew BEFORE they even knew he had Jewish roots. You say, "Oh yeah? Prove it! Give me a timeline." I do. You don't deny it. Instead you change the whole game to say that Felix became a Jewish slur retroactively once it became clear that he did have Jewish roots. (Again, leaving out the innate stupidness of using a Latino name to suggest Jewishness.) And then you demand that Webb ought to have shared your incredibly bizarre, incredibly dumb idea that Felix turned into a Jewish slur on September 18. And, of course, this is all only after doing me the gigantic favor of accepting "my" "supposed" timeline -- you know, the one that occurred here on Earth and not in your weirdo brain. Yeah. You're looking great here, dude. No wonder you decided you'd rather talk about my sex life.
As my friend Rebecca (or "Rifka") likes to say, I'm "Jew-ish." I was raised Jewish, I had a Bar Mitzvah and I identify with my Jewish roots culturally, but I'm not religious in the traditional sense. Philosophically, I identify with as much in Christianity or Buddhism as I do in Judaism (with which I do identify a great deal), but with regard to belief in God I am agnostic. And no, of course I do not believe Obama would represent a threat to the Jewish community. And I find it to be a typically xenophobic and bigoted question.
Why would you ask the question? It seems that you under two mistaken beliefs by asking this question. 1. You falsely assume Obama is a Muslim 2. Making your first false assumption and mistake, you then adopt the bigoted view that if he is a Muslim he is more inclined to pose a threat to the Jewish community.
With Obama's Muslim roots and education, he could more readily identify with Muslim countries such as Iran. This could certainly pose a threat to Israel and is a VERY legitimate question. It is not bigoted.
it would be great if he really were muslim. what a great opportunity it would be to broker good will in the middle east. a muslim president, that would be awesome.
You know what's interesting about this is that earlier I sarcastically asked whether Obama's supposed Islamic affiliation would make him more likely to support Islamic fundamentalism and you said that anyone who supported that claim was racist.
