...and this little nugget coming from the liberals who rejoiced over John Ashcroft's hospitalization as well as Strom Thurmond's DEATH. Laughable.
The difference is, there were liberals who spoke out against that. I've yet to see a conservative here speak out against what I cited.
LOL No friend, there is no difference. You got caught red handed, Rocketman95, being hypocritical. It's ok, it happens. Try not to worry about it too much. There are what, 4-5 conservatives on this board? That, Rocketman95, is simply not a large enough sample to make such spurious correlations with. For you to cite this as evidence is pure folly! Furthermore, for liberals such as yourself, Rocketman95, to expect conservatives to respond instantly to every single one of the liberals' attacks, is a bit much to ask of such a small group. I can't respond to 10 posts per hour, Rocketman95, and it is laughable to expect such. If I did, I would have a ridiculous number of posts, Rocketman95. I mean, like 18,000 or something. Your argument is destroyed, Rocketman95.
You have a chance now. Decry the rejoicing that the death of four young Americans. Decry the wish that an American gets a heart attack. If not, you're the hypocrite. Not that we needed this post to figure it out. Now go tattletale little boy...
Yup, and ROXRAN, who I've met and thought I liked, made a post hoping that Michael Moore would get a heart attack. No word from any conservatives lambasting either. They only decry stuff like this when it's politically convenient.
I know jack about Kent State, but I don't think it's cool to celebrate the death of those people that day. And I don't like wishing a heart attack on Michael Moore. I wish he'd be held to a higher standard of accuracy, but I wish him no personal ill will. But just because I don't comment on something doesn't mean I agree with it. And how old is this kid if she's in high school AND part of Generation X? How many times did he get left behind? The whole thing is pretty stupid. The whole point of any creative writing is to express one's self, and no matter how stupid that expression may seem to you and me (or that person's teacher), it's that person's opinion. I don't understand the desire to prevent the creation if such material. Whenever I hear something I disagree with, I either argue the points or I just ignore it. I don't think it necessary to prevent that person from expressing himself. But I do know a lot of people have the desire to control others.
Do you recognize that the current climate, engendered from top down, with all the equations of disagreeing with the war to treason, etc. and the Patriot Act, has made this kind of otherwise inconceivable action less so?
So you guys are against censorship when it comes to this kids poem, but for censorship when it comes to a signature on a basketball website? Which is it?
I think that rather than censorship of bbs signatures, many of us would settle for public floggings when appropriate.
