I am sure there are plenty of grocery stores around. I hate my job, but I am far too lazy to look for another one.

I tried getting their Continental Airlines credit card. They denied me, damn them. I called Customer Service and they have the WORST!

Wells Fargo has been pretty good for me, and it helps that there's a branch a couple of blocks from my house.

However, nothing beats a good credit union.

No, unfortunately I am too. Looking to change though probably. My deposits take FOREVER to clear. After I deposit money I can't spend any of it for like over a week, sometimes 2, and I keep getting overwithdrawl charges because I usually deposit money at the end of the month and have to pay bills to start the next. I'm so sick of them.

I only bank at a credit union and get many of the same features that Behad and 111 get.

Free checking, low rates on Visa Credit Card and used auto loans, 24 hour access to account via internet, ATM card, etc.

You can get free checking if you have direct deposit. It's called MyAccess Checking.

Regarding Chase- y'all should look into their Chase Freedom Card. You get a straight 1% cashback applied to your bill the next month and 3% at any gas station. The only way to sign up right now is on the phone by calling 1-866-800-FRDM (3736).

Check this FW.com thread for more info.

you can get free checking virtually everywhere...to be competitive, even the smaller local banks are matching that...and the free check card, etc.

go with southtrust...southwest bank of texas...sterling...bank of texas...someone like that. believe me, they appreciate depositors FAR more than the big mass banks. far more. much more of a local feel...much more likely to waive fees, etc.

I use NetBank. Have been using them for over a year with no problems. I also have an account with Frost bank, both banks are great.
