I had a couple of problems with Bank of America in the past. Once I deposited a check and they entered my account number wrong because of my poor handwriting. That wasn't a big deal and was mainly my fault for not writing clearly, what was really dumb about it is that the account number that they typed in didn't exist so the money wasn't actually put into any body's account. I would hope that they would check stuff like that but apparently not. The other issue, which caused me to switch banks, was that I deposited two paychecks at once, and they somehow lost one of them and didn't put the money into my account. I let my job know about it and they checked their account and the money had been taken out. Once they got the returned check back they gave it to me to take to the bank and show them that it had been processed. Their first solution was to process the check again until I explained that that would just take the money out of my works account twice and put it into my account once. After going to the bank everyday for a week to explain the situation to them, and being told my money was "in la la land" I finally got the money and closed my account. Since then I've had accounts at Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual, both have been good, I would say Wells Fargo was slightly better.
Ask anyone who was with MBNA what they think about "Bank" of America... I don't hold checking/saving accounts at the chain banks any longer, but I never did have any problems with Wells Fargo while I was with them.. Good luck with getting that mess resolved..
BOA sucks, don't even want to get into it. Pocket, you need to check your credit reports and probably put a freeze on. You probably have some sort of identity theft going on. Clear that crap up then think about switching banks. Nows not the time. Good luck,
