Klark Kent was Steward Copeland's solo project done while still under contract (hence the not so subtle alias). I don't think any of the other Police played on it.
I know Andy Summers played on it. I thought he was a regular member of the band, but he may have only played on a couple of numbers.
i wouldnt call keef a lead singer either, but he always mangaged to get a song in on each album - "little t and a" and "silver" come to mind. i like his voice. sure he is borderline out of tune, but he uses it well.
AND TLC. They're looking for someone to replace Left Eye right now so they can do a comeback tour. Uh, woo hoo! or something.
I think you should have to have a hit with more than one singer, or at least a large percentage of your songs sung by a different singer, to make this more meaningful. KISS definitely qualifies there. A lot of these bands mentioned seem to only have a different singer on a song or two. Also, King's X.
Iron Maiden (Adrian Smith sang lead on a couple of B-sides) Rainbow/Deep Purple (Ronnie James Dio & Ian Gillan toured together for a short time and shared vocals)
The Beatles The Who CSN and CSN&Y The Mothers of Invention Squeeze Sly and the Family Stone 10cc/Godley and Creme Earth Wind and Fire Parliament/Funkadelics this list could be endless

311 was the first that came to my mind. I thought there was only one guy from DM was singing, and that was Dave Gahan.
