Isaiah Thomas sucks!!! He only talks about the past and he takes three times as long as Chuck to make a point that doesn't make any sense.
Some people on this forum have ridiculous expectations.. HOW DARE YOU MEDIA, HOW DARE YOU NOT CONSTANTLY PRAISE MY ROCKETS
The reason Chris Webber works is because he's laid back and goes with the flow. He doesn't try to dominate the conversation. He's the perfect Inside the NBA role player. Barkley was "the man" on the show since he was hired. He was the one being silly, joking around, and dominating the conversation. When Shaq came on the show, Shaq tried to be like Barkley. Cracking jokes, being silly, and dominating the conversation. Well, that's not going to work. There are two guys now trying to do the same thing, and it becomes too much. Then there seemed to be tension between the two at first. Then Shaq isn't good at taking jokes, and isn't good at ripping on Barkley without coming across as mean-spirited. Shaq just isn't good.
Shaq is the only one I want banned. Barkley's anti Rockets tirade is irritating, but at least he's funny. I don't find Shaq amusing one bit.
This is wrong. I don't think people mind an honest assessment of the team. If an analyst says something negative about the team, but he's at least fair about it, then that's one thing. But the guys on TNT hold a grudge against the Rockets, and refuse to do anything but talk negatively about them. It is to the point where after the Rockets played a great game on TNT and beat a really good team, I thought to myself "let's see if Barkley and Shaq can weasel their way out of saying something positive about the team this time". And I don't know why I was surprised, but they found a way to spin it negatively. Literally every single time they play on TNT, it's nothing but criticism and negativity. Irrational negativity.
Isiah would be a good replacement. I'm surprised so many hate him; that might stem from his stints in the front office. I think he says some pretty insightful stuff and I think he is funny. CWebb of course would be a great replacment. I think he is just ok as color commentary. You guys seem to absolutely love him though. Brent Barry is better than CWebb IMO. Everyone else you listed would be garbage. Grant Hill is ruining Inside Stuff for me. He is just too Vanilla.
To be honest I like Kenny. He might not always be on the spot with his comments but he is the most objective of them all and also he is a Rocket champion so i am lenient about his mental hiccups, I can ignore them. Barkley on the other hand is obviously biased against us and it seems forever will be regardless of whoever we have or whatever we do. And you know what? at least for me the feeling is mutual, we traded for his "superstar" A$$ thinking we would keep winning and we lost Cassel and Horry in the process and won jack **** with "SIr Charles", screw him. As for Shaq, c'mon who cares what Shaq says? he is a comedian not a basketball analyst...
I'm glad this topic was brought up because I thought I was the only one that noticed the bias against us on TNT. Not to mention we had to have Hubie announcing the game and Joey reffing. I felt like I was watching the game with my enemies, yelling at the TV all night, until i switched over to root. Barkley used to be pretty good, but lately he always sound like a butt hurt old grumpy man. Last night he said the Bulls was the best all around team in the East, right before they scored a whole 11 points in the first half. He has his agendas and his favorite players that he loves regardless of how they play (P. Gasol for one). Shaq doesn't add any relavent insight at all. He tries to crack jokes and threatens to beat people up all the time. His basketball analisis is basic at best. And every good move down low don't have to be "Bar B Q's Chicken" Kenny and Ernie are the only ones that bring any insight to the program at all making most of the show unbearable. Bring back C Webb any day over these two bias clowns, I'd even take Brent Barry (Jon does color) in studio over these.
Charles Barkley is an idiot listen to his english, this guy has no business being on tv, I never listen to anything he every says. Did you hear what he said last night? That the Bulls could win it all. Enough said point taken, what a joke.
I hope there's a cure for his analisis. But yeah, Shaq's constant come back of "look at the rings" is so tiresome. "Kazaam was a terrible movie? That's not what my 4 championships say"
Yeah, this argument and any others that get brought up when defending those morons are not valid and show that yall are so desperate to be taken seriously as a "realist fan" you don't mind people dumping on your team for no good reason. Those guys dump on the Rockets, and it has NOTHING to do with how much they have accomplished over any time span. You don't see them being that way with other teams who have had even LESS success over the last 20 years do ya....no you dont. It is personal with them and anybody that tries to downplay it is just kissing their collective has-been asses. I will give my viewership to the channel who's job it is to cover my team cause they deserve the ratings, TNT does not.
C'mon man!! does that mean they talk $hiet about every single team that has not won anything in years? Do they only like the Spurs or the Heat?? Let me remind you that at the start of the season most "experts" thought we would barely make it to the playoffs.... its not only TNT's guys who are doubtful of us but everybody... the general believe about the Rox is that we are not that good and are overachieving and yet we dont even get credit for that......
Apparently sensitive fans care more about the show to create fake dialogue than the actual game People in the 80s and 90s cared only about the games
