Anyone means anyone. I imagine that could include the lesser division with Sam Houston. The WAC, the MAC, the MWC, Indiana, etc... I think he beats just about anyone then. Pee-pee games much?

Kind of a pointless thread. No one KNOWS what would happen in any imaginary scenario between Alabama and A&M, all we can do is post what we HOPE would happen and then try and find a way to justify it. A&M came into Alabama and beat us, simple as that. Alabama got into the title game and stomped Notre Dame to win the championship, simple as that. That is all we know and all that matters.

Here's the data, by the way:

All other coaches in regular season = 50% wins
All other coaches extra prep time (bowl games, season openers) = 50% wins

Saban: 73.3% regular games, 66.7% extra prep time

This doesn't include bye weeks for other coaches, but presumably they are over 50% in those scenarios.

So you think he only beats Sam Houston because he has extra time to prepare? He wins because he's a great coach and has great talent - not because he has extra time to prepare for people. Or at least, there's no evidence that he's any better at that than anyone else.

BTW, Nick Saban is 8-6 in bowl games over his career, though he's gotten better over time - not surprisingly, as he's coached at better schools and had better teams. Michigan State: 0-3. LSU: 3-2. Alabama: 5-1.

If A&M played Alabama right now I don't know who would win but I do know this, it would be a lot better game than the Nat. Championship game the other night. That was a pathetic mismatch. Embarrassing.
