Collection agencies DON'T CARE if you have a legitimate argument against the debt they're trying to collect - all they want is for YOU to give THEM your money. That's it. They don't care if, in this case for example, Bally's ****ed up. They don't care! All they want is your money.

if i dont pay, what effects do they have? they can mess up my credit cant they?

the more i research this the worse i feel about my chances, i read that i have to send a letter of dispute.

If you were paying by credit card get your credit card company involved. Show them the receipts for the voided account.

it was debit so all the information is in file it was direct deposit.
