man i was trying to do xbox 360 at first, but its so difficult because of the downloading programs and such. The best way, and others would likely vouch, is running an hdmi cord straight from your laptop to your tv... its been by far the best. i also hear that roku works very good, but i dont own one of them types of devices.

For some reason (even after following the simple steps on their website) I can not get it to run on my VLC media player (because when I am on my browser it tends to skip some games more than others). I think this might help.

I am not running multiple applications, browsers, tabs, or anything like that. I use CCleaner often and use basic tips like keeping start up apps down to a minimum.

    Any suggestions?

the set up was easy for me. installed serviio with the plugin and got it working right away adding the streams to the serviio console and picking up the feed in ps3/360. was familiar with this type of stuff running tversity through my xbox. im currently watching the ending of this blazers/lakers game on my directv box. but its the sd version and its working flawlessly. whenever i watch HD video on my pc its very choppy like a low framerate so hooking up an hdmi isnt what i really want to do, i could do that with the link that IBTL provided in the GARM. im really hoping its my dated modem, ran a speed test and was 35 down 5 up. not sure if thats good it was rated B. again, the ps3 worked great but its not mine, 360 was buffering too much. does anyone here use the 360 to stream HD properly? if its not my modem i will check out roku, last resort is to pick up a ps3 from somewhere but i dont really want to do that..

i was watching on vlc earlier.. add the link under the video in ballstreams into vlc open network stream tab, also click options and change caching to 10000ms.. its should be working fine. make sure your vlc is updated..

i never did get to streaming thru my xbox, but from discussions with others i hear it comes in kinda choppy and not as crisp and clear. instead of getting a roku, i would suggest getting a chromecast doingle thingy like bobmarley suggested. its only 35$ or so and is a much cheaper alternative to roku.

i hope it ends up working out for you, and i think i also get the low framerate feeling some times with my laptop as well. im currently debating on whether or not to take bobmarleys advice myself and go with chromecast.

Is it working for anyone on the PS3? I don't know what I'm doing wrong with Serviio or Plex. Serviio crashes on my mac.

Chromecast is for those who aren't tech savvy. You simply plug it into your TV & it displays whatever is on your Chrome browser on your PC, tablet or laptop. And it's only $35.

It could cut out today and I still wouldn't regret paying for this service. Has been an AWESOME investment. I've gotten to watch WAY more basketball just 1 month into the season than I EVER did on League Pass Broadband with all its ridiculous blackout rules. And being without cable I also love the fact that ballstreams steams Inside the NBA. Just an incredible service all-around.

Picked up a Roku 2 for $49 on Amazon last week and tried it out for a few minutes last night on the Bulls/Heat game. Was flawless, especially compared to the laptop setup I had been using. I was forced to use low res quality on my MB Pro, otherwise it would lag and/or be choppy. Roku seemed to be full HD the few minutes I watched.

Not to mention it frees up my laptop and I don't have cables running all over the place now.

Its crazy how good those things run. I am going to try to set it up on my Ouya this weekend. Laptop works good, but would rather have a dedicated ballstreams device.

My Roku is one of the early ones, not even one of the newer units, and watching the Rockets on Ballstreams is pretty much indistinguishable from just 'watching the game on tv'.

These little Rokus are just awesome doodads! :)

Jim Crane can suck it!
