I feel for the Houston folks... honestly, I do. but those just trying to save a little scratch over the season are going to be running into these issues all season long
These issues are why I didn't want to put up with it this season. I will just watch the national TV games.
Lol, it was just 1 game. I didn't have a single problem with any game, with any team all of preseason all the way till last night with the rockets game. The admin even said himself their wasn't even supposed to be a rox feed, but he put it on for us anyways. I enjoyed it on SD quality with no lag, but everyone on the game chat kept on complaining, they took it off and we had to resort to the working dallas feed. Anyways, the admin said the rox game should be normal from today, as the game is on their main encoder tonight and not their backup. ... still being hopeful, because this is still better than LP!
Remember, if you're getting lag on your comp, try VLC player. If you're still getting lag, try PotPlayer. If you're still getting lag, it's either your internet speed (make sure you have at least 5 MBPS for high quality) and 1.5 MBPS for low quality. If it's not your internet speed, it's your comp... it might be time to invest and upgrade.
I don't think all the Lag problem is due to their own computer or internet speed. I used to have no lag problem during preseason with my ipad, nexus 7, my laptop with their default flash player. But after the season start and their site starts to stream 13 or 14 games at the same time, Lag and choppy starts to happen on me. Please notice that I have 60Mbps fios connection. Anyway, Potplayer+mobile site method works fine last night. I am ok.
What do you mean trying to save a little scratch? If you meant getting ballstreams as opposed to league pass, it's because the Rockets games are blacked out if you're in the Houston market.
VPN location spoofing is far less morally suspect than ballstreams. VPN spoofing is civil disobedience, ballstreams is 100% stealing.
I'm specifically talking about people outside the Houston market. there's many of them taking advantage of the cheaper and more illegal service. it should also be noted that this thread was moved from GARM for a good reason, I would suppose.
The problem is that ballstreams is an easy and isolated target that can be taken down while VPN location spoofing is provided by many providers and is nearly impossible to prevent.
If I pay for league pass, it mitigates that effect dramatically. The NBA probably doesn't care at all about that sort of thing, the same way Netflix hasn't cared about VPN spoofing either. Also, tonight league pass let's me choose between Jazz commentary and Rockets commentary. Nice.
