i completely agree...i was there sunday and it was ridciulously pretty...went down to the lowest row so my kid could slap hands with the mascot, and I was literally in awe..i've been to MMP many times, but something about it was different. really amazing.
Yeah, I agree. There's something in the air over there this year. I've been five times already, have yet to sit anywhere up the upper decks, and I've had the time of my life each time.
That game against the Brewers, I sat down the firstbase line about 8 rows up. I forgot to bring sunscreen and a hat.... They should have a sunburn warning on the tickets for the firstbase side, I'm Irish dammit!
I bet you could spot Jessica Simpson's fun bags from the 27th floor! That's worth one month's rent right there. edit: Sorry that is just plain and simple spill-over from reading the Lindsay Lohan thread.
In relation to our discussion of development around the ballpark: My brother-in-law is a local disc jockey and has the total hook up with Tillman Fertitta and all his stuff. He told me yesterday that the Inn at the Ballpark rented out exactly ONE room this past weekend. Occupancy rate of .05%. This is why you're not seeing development down there...because someone has to go first, and there's just enough right around the ballpark to do...yet. That and the fact that the Convention Center Hilton has $89 room rates on weekends just down the street with 1400 rooms.
