Rudyard would definitely help our team, especially our bench. He would bring energy as well as athleticism. He would fit perfectly with lowry, bud, and Patterson. Run n Gun!!!
Rudy is a stud! He can do everything and is absolutely fearless when attacking the rim. If we are in position to lock him up, then we should do everything in our power(without giving up any real assets) to do exactly that.
I really think this trade should NOT happen. Why the hell do we keep looking at forwards. we need a backup CENTER and nothing else. our team is solid in all aspects except at center. i can understand going for rubio and getting a potential 4th quarter closer in him since we need that, but rudy fernandez just doesnt seem like he is needed.
@ChrisMannixSI: Chicago, Boston, Portland, Utah, Washington and Cleveland in the hunt for Ronnie Brewer, sources tell SI. Looks like Fernandez is going to be moving on pretty soon if they are trying to sign Matthews and Brewer. Morey's kind of guy and we know he had him stole from him before.
The Jazz signed Raja Bell at a cheaper price than Matthews and already notified his reps that they wouldn't be matching the offer with Portland. So, Rudy should be officially on the block...

we didnt overpay for lowry. he got a very fair market-value deal. now fernadez would just be gravy... big men are only to be acquired at the trade deadline...by then the likes of emeka okafor and chris paul would pop up and we'd be allllllllll set
That's a great point, however I think he'd be ok at 2. But I don't want to stunt jermaine taylor's growth
Rudy Fernandez >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jermaine Taylor. Rudy has the ability to be something special while Jermaine Taylor...uhh.....are everywhere in the nba. see: Matthews, Wesley
There is no "overpaying" for Fernandez. He only makes $1.24M next year, with a team option for $2.18M the following season. It doesn't get much cheaper than that.
Rudy is a very talented player. Nate McMillan is a over rated coach who gets alot credit for under achieving.
For that price, if you can get him, I think you do. That said, why does Portland deal with the team that knocked them off in the playoffs?
