i would loovvvvve fernandez. but do we really have any assets to trade ? Jefferies and battier are much better served as expiring contracts near the trade deadline
my dream lineup: brooks/lowry martin/fernandez ariza/budinger scola/patterson/hill/hayes yao/miller/hayes/hill these are the rockets i want to see this year.
He certainly is worth it. He is VERY effective when he is on the floor, and would be a beastly back up C.
I wouldn't mind taking Oden. Backup centers don't take as much punishment, since they often go against the opposing team's backup center, and nowadays most backup centers aren't even actual centers. Oden wouldn't have to go up against the likes of Dwight every minute on the floor, so his chance of injury should drop.
The original item is just a regurgitation of the same info that prompted the last Rudy Fernandez thread here, reported on nba.com I wouldn't read much into it and doubt it's anything new. It's simply whoever wrote this article reading the old article.
Oden / Pryzbilla Aldridge / Camby Batum / Cunningham Roy / Mathews Miller / Bayless They have Babbit who they think can replace Fernandez. I don't think they can trade for any worthy centers with the small amount of money Fernandez is making. I guess they will try to upgrade either the SF or PG spot.
We have more than enough playing time for the guy, of course Rick would have to go with a 10 man rotation given the depth my proposed aquasition (of both Rudy & Przybilla) would provide..... 2010|11 Rotation Brooks | Lowry Martin | Fernandez Ariza | Budinger Scola | Hill | Pat | Jeffries Yao | Przybilla | Hayes | Andersen Hayes, Andersen and Jeffries will be our situational players and Pat would probably see alot of D-League experience(which isn't a bad thing)... --RB
Hmmmmmmm? Are you talking about injury issues with Martin or just making a statement that we will play the guy we traded Carl Landry for less than a player shunned by his current team? Does. Not. Compute.
Rudy is a stud! He can do everything and is absolutely fearless when attacking the rim. If we are in position to lock him up, then we should do everything in our power(without giving up any real assets) to do exactly that.
I'm talking about his injury issues. He has missed a ton of games each season and just like Yao, cannot be relied upon for an 82 game season. Sorry, just preparing for the worst case scenario. Rudy would be an excellent insurance for Martin.
As SamF pointed out this old news. With Taylor's showing in SL maybe the Rockets have cooled on this idea? Then again yesterday Feigen said they were interested: http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2010/07/watching_summer_league_while_w.html I can see Rudy as a PG under Adelman. Rockets offering Brooks in a package for a star player?
