A couple million a year to play ball. I don't see how they do it? Who do I feel sorry for? Homeless people, disabled people. Multi millionaires, you've gotta be kidding.
The Spurs new guy, Bruce Bowen. It sounds like he is expected to score 20-30 points a game, hold the Kobe's and Vince's under 20 a game, solve the energy crisis, etc. etc.. Seriously though, the one I kinda felt sorry for is Bobby Hurley of the Kings. 19 games into his rookie year he had an auto accident, with injuries including a fractured back, multiple rib fractures, a fractured shoulder, a torn trachea, and torn knee ligaments. He recovered and came back the following year, but never recovered his old form and soon retired or was cut. He busted his arse to get to the NBA, and luckily he got to play a little.
Er...and at which point did this thread become "Who do you feel more sorry for, ballers or homeless people??" Relativity, baby...relativity.... And whoever mention the Garnett/Money thing, that's a good point. I'd forgotten about that. Although, that sounds like he's paying for a 'straight-outta-high-school' mistake.
Mitch Richmond. Wasted his best years on some of the worst teams ever. At least he has a great chance to win a ring now in LA.
Vince Carter ain't a dick. He's one of the most well-liked players in the league. Antonio Davis is a 15/11 PF. Why isn't he worth near the max? He's also still improving at age 32.
