exactly. how do you think the celts' won the championship last yr? paul pierce and ray allen looked like garbage in the first 2 playoff series and they won?

nobody expects this offense to be crisp 3 games into a season when most of our guys didn't play much together. the fact that they are winning shows the resiliency that championship teams have.

great teams win games where they look like they "suck."

It's not how you start, it's how you finish, the scoring balance is nice, but whats's better is the energy and shutdown defense we are playing at the end of games. NO more 4th quarter meltdowns. Am I saying this too soon??? :D

I dont care if we shoot 25% as long as our opponents shoot a lesser percentage and we win the game

Sounds like you are complaining that we won, not that we played great defense and showed leadership and the ability to close out a game.

On the contrary people here are starting threads about why can't Ron Artest dunk (deleted thread thank goodness), people wanting a certain player to score a billion points, fantasy basketball, nba classics when a team loses but player scores lots of points, why doesn't this player get more touches etc

I get it, you'd rather us shoot 50% have nice dunks and lose..

That would be the GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

Sorry dude this about the TRU WARIERs

    You got the WRONG WARRIORS

Offense can get you to the playoffs, but defense is what wins championships, just ask the Celtics, the Spurs, and the Pistons.

Exactly, Pierce and Ray Allen looked horrible but they still played defense and grinded out wins.

Why do people care so much about having some perfect game where the entire team shoots 50% and triple doubles and dunks?

you want ugly? remember that playoff game against Utah where the bench scored like nothing? utah won that game, they were ugly too

I'd rather take that win and move on in the playoffs.

I'm just saying the offense was s***. Like it or not. I liked the win. But I'm worried about how the offense is trending; it's off the charts how it goes so high one day then so low the other.

If you want to extrapolate that to all the other ridiculous things you said, then fine. I'm not speaking for everyone here...obviously there's some who WOULD prefer Yao got 50 points and the team would lose by 50. But there are also some who are legitimately concerned about how Adelman is managing the Big 3's minutes and how the offense isn't flowing so consistently; calling those people out with the rest is just low. People can like a win and still be a bit worried.

Or people can be pissed their favorite player isn't getting them the fantasy points that they want. Or people can completely miss the fact that we have new players on our team and its game 3 and 3-0 is the best possible scenario,

    not 3-0 shooting 70%, 3-0.

because there are too many fans of individual players and not the team on this board.

Hey Tmac almost exploded for 30 in this game! rats! should have hit 2 more 3s.

    Unbalanced scoring:

    http://www.nba.com/games/20070426/HOUUTA/recap.html
    Utah 81, Houston 67

SALT LAKE CITY, April 26 (AP) -- The Utah Jazz shot poorly again and rushed on offense a few times, yet coach Jerry Sloan was about as tickled as he gets.

Utah's defense was good enough to overcome any offensive struggles, and the Jazz beat Houston 81-67 Thursday night to cut the Rockets' lead to 2-1 in their playoff series.

The Jazz held the Rockets without a field goal for 10 minutes in the second half and didn't allow Houston's reserves to score a single point. Yao Ming scored 26 and Tracy McGrady had 24 points for Houston, but only two other Rockets scored.

Statistical trends imply application for the future.

No one would care if this were Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

But the fact remains there are 79 games left. And the next happens to be a bogey. Shooting 36% against Oklahoma...one of the worst defenses in the league. What are the Rockets going to pull against the best defense there is?

What about the Dallas game? Forgot about that did ya? Where's the complaining about that?

Oh 'Why as Tmac on the Bench in the 4th' thread..

    yeah

    But we shot 48%

but Tmac was on the bench!!!

Tell me the trend you are worried about. We won 3 games. two games we had bad shooting and one we didn't.

what's the trend now? every other game we have good shooting?

I like the trend that we keep winning regardless and we play strong defense and we FINISH games.

This could become a problem if the trend continues, especially against upper echelon teams. But I think it may be due to unfamiliarity with the offense and new core players. It may sort itself out eventually, given a dozen games or so. It's too early to suggest any kind of fatal flaw at this moment in the season.

    Tinman-

Nobody wants to see T-Mac score 30 because of "fantasy points" or because they can see some highlight plays and whatnot...they want to see him have a breakout game coming off of the injury, which would boost his confidence going into arguably the toughest stretch of games in the season while still trying to intergrate Artest, Barry and a whole new offense.

Also, balanced scoring is necessary, but whether you want to believe it or not, our big 3 are going to be playing 40MPG in the playoffs and every once in awhile one will need to put up massive numbers to get the win. We saw it last year with Paul Pierce in game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, we saw it with Tim Duncan in game 1 vs the Suns, and Kobe, well...the entire post season. As ideal of a situation it would be for all of our big 3 to score an even 20PPG and the role players pick up the rest of the slack, there will be many nights where that situation will not be realized and one of our stars will need to take over.

    Hell, yes.

Ef stats, it ain't about that.

Like Herm Edwards said, "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!"
Man we need a photoshopped pic of Adleman with a eyepatch, that would be sick!

    ...great thread by the way.
