When will we find out how the workout went? I have a feeling if we pick him up it is to take moochies spot on the bench. Who is out there that we could get for Mooch and Howard and maybe Wesly? Sac Town is under the heat and I think Veshon Leonard demanded a trade ,but I don't know what his contract looks like and I don't know if he is any improvement over what we had. Atlanta isn't playing well (what's new). Who else is tanking quick?
Berman may give us an update on his sports segement around 9:40. Al Harrington put up a strong 35 pts against Denver the other night. That's especially impressive to do against Martin and Camby. The Pacers are struggling. They could be looking to change things up.
Anyone not getting PT for the Pacers? I don't think we could get Harrington, do you? It would be a great addition, what does his contract look like?
What? Vin Baker will be given a tryout! NOOOOOOOOO oh, I thought this thread was about Vin Baker. . . ha ha ha thats crazy. I guess people just post before reading
Baker gets shot at Rockets By KERRYCOLLINS Bismarck Tribune Maurice Baker's hopes of playing in the NBAmay really be blasting off. The Dakota Wizards star has earned a two-day tryout with the Houston Rockets. Baker worked out for the team on Wednesday, and will work out for the NBAclub again today. The tryout is in Sacramento, Calif., where the Rockets take on the Kings tonight. "He flew down there (Wednesday)morning, and will be working out for them over the next couple of days,"Wizards coach Dave Bliss said. "If he makes it, he'll stay down there with them. "We wish him the best of luck." Baker, who couldn't be reached Wednesday, has been one of the top players in the CBAin the early goings of the 2005-06 campaign, and won the league's first player of the week award of the season. "There are point guards that set things up, and there are point guards that score,"Bliss said. "The thing with Mo is that he can do both." Through the first seven games this season, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound guard is averaging 24.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 2.4 steals per game. "He really has had a great start for us," Bliss said. "As what happens a lot of times with players that have been somewhere for a couple of years, he has matured and become more comfortable. "That has helped Mo make us a better team." Baker was called up twice last season, getting 10-day contracts from both the Los Angeles Clippers and the Portland Trail Blazers. Dakota will host the Idaho Stampede on Friday, and the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Saturday. Both games are slated to tip off at 7:05 p.m. Bliss said the Wizards would find out before the weekend's game about Baker's status with the NBAsquad. "This is what the CBAis all about - enabling kids to get to that next step,"Bliss said. "Mo is taking advantage of it." The Wizards currently lead the CBA's Western Conference at 4-3 with a 4.28 quarter-point average. http://www.bismarcktribune.com/articles/2005/12/08/sports/local/106676.txt
What a great idea! Let's tank the season less than 15 games into it for an inknown commodity! Not smart.
Since all y'all were fooled into thinking this was Vin Baker, I thought I'd let y'all know about my impressions when I saw the title for this post. "Baker gets tryout with Rockets." Baker? Who's Baker? Maybe Maurice Baker. Vin Baker never even entered into my mind. I forgot about that guy. As a bonus, when I saw that he averaged whatever for the Wizards, I thought, must be the Dakota Wizards coached by Dave Bliss (former Baylor basketball coach who tried to cover up any wrongdoing by saying Patrick Dennehy was a drug dealer and says that he is unworthy of ever coaching college basketball again). Now look, all I'm saying is that I'm smarter than all y'all. King me. I refuse to use emoticons.

Wow, Kerry Collins didn't waste any time getting a new job after being demoted. That's right, Screw you Al Davis and Norv Turner! I got a job at the Bismarck Tribune writing about the CBA!
Good move. Better than bringing in Sprwell. It is silly to think we are one player away from anything great. I think every two to three weeks we should bring in another CBA player of the week for a try out. Let the old frequently injured vets sit as they are mainly valuable as expiring contracts anyway. Keep auditioning the CBA Maybe we will get a young role player or two. However, as somebody said, what is the point of having young players if you just let them sit on the bench like Lonnie Baxter.
VIN BAKER IS GETTING A TRY OUT? Don't know much about Mo Baker, but will find out some more once I get out of work and do some research at home.
