SMH at those who think this is marketing ploy or something to get the fans in seats. Clearly, because we all go to the games to see the hitting coach. Really?! Is that why you go to the games? Certainly not opposed to this but hey if it doesn't work out, it was only a 2 month "project" and Bagwell can go back to do what he was doing before. I dont think anything now or at the beginning of the season would've made a difference in terms of W/Ls and making the likes of Manzella, Feliz, etc better hitters but takes me back to the offseason and when they hired Mills. Why not let Mills then hire his guy(s) instead of you, you, and you [of the old staff] will still have a job no matter what. But ehh, whatever. We'll see what happens. Certainly can't get worse, can they?
Jeff on with Brad/Barry on 610 earlier tonight. http://kilt.cbslocal.com/2010/07/11/jeff-bagwell-back-to-astros/
Unless Bagwell has some secret method of improving players' strike zone judgment, I'm going to say this move means jack squat.
From baserunning to defense to overall plate approach, Baggy was one of the smartest players of his era. I certainly don't mind having him around...
"DARN IT!!!! How many times have I told you, Lance?!?!? Leave the pinkie OUT!!!!! " Welcome, Jeff.
