http://www.opel-skyliners.de/?News/...11/meldung_20041124_20vorbericht_20athen.html He does appear to be out for the season and hasn't played a game in months. How he can be "really progressing" like the 610 guys allegedly said is questionable.
Are those guys really considered journalists, though? I mean, they just sorta read press releases and bring up rumors.
Sports radio hosts aren't insiders. Most times, they're not even reporters. Yes, they have more time to read up on sports and to watch them, so they can become very knowledgeable, but they don't have access to any special information. I think you'll find that, thanks to the internet, a really passionate and intelligent fan will be much more knowledgeable about his favorite team than the local host. If the afternoon show consists of an east coast hockey fan and a football shill, chances are they don't do any research on the Rockets at all other than watching the games (sometimes) and reading the sports page. I've worked at a few radio stations and I'll tell you that drive-time hosts in major markets usually put in very little effort. The point is, any information that's worth anything will be posted on this board very quickly - guys here love getting scoops. We get stories from Germany, China, etc. This is the best source because people here care. You think Lance wouldn't bail out of this city in heartbeat if a station in LA called? He'd never watch a Rocket game again.
That's very funny too. But seriously, BBS posters don't try to pass themselves off as having some kind of special insight (at least not usually). On the other hand, the radio hosts don't come out and say they have special info per se, but they imply that they do in their delivery. For example, if you put news up on this board, you have to post the link - you have to give your source. On the radio, the hosts deliver info like they have first-hand knowledge of it, when in fact, they're just reading the same stuff we are. And like I said in my prior post, they're usually reading even less than we are and just bluffing answers. These guys have good voices, quick wits, and a good repartee with callers, but they're no more informed than your average armchair quarterback.
I saw scout video on this guy he is a powerhouse, the video I saw he shook the rim like shaq used to do.... His block shots he made were phonemonal!!!! He will definately be a top pick!!!!

wouldn't badman improve more by learning from deke then some german coach? bring him in this summer! and damn it keep him hear at least till he shows what he has during preseason.
A poster here said he saw Badiane working out in Houston. Don't know if it's true. If it is it explains why it's possible for Badiane to progress when rehabbing. A shoulder injury won't keep him from strengthening his legs etc... for instance.
A clip from the Chronicle By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle Impressed with Badiane Magic center Mario Kasun thinks a possible future Rockets player has a bright NBA future. Kasun played last season in Germany with the Rockets' 2003 second-round pick, Malick Badiane of Senegal. "He's a good player," Kasun said, "a really good athlete, definitely a guy that can get a lot of rebounds ... If he keeps working hard, he can make it here, no doubt."
