950KPRC reported that Jason Collier is having knee surgery and will be out the rest of the year. lottery here we come! ------------------ [This message has been edited by ROCKETBOOSTER (edited February 16, 2001).]
That will make it easier to activate Cato and explains Collier's dismal showing in the few games he's played since he returned. ------------------
Crap...that's too bad. I'd really like to see how Collier was coming along. In the early season I was really kind of impressed by his play. Then again, I'm not really convinced he is the difference between the rockets being a play-off team or a lottery team. ------------------ "Weathermen are simply con-artists with radar equipment. A 50 percent chance of rain? That's the same as saying 'maybe, maybe not.' I could tell you that!" - P. Mesku
Damn! My heart nearly came out of my chest. I thought you were going to say: "Steve has broken his ankle", or "Hakeem has hurt his knee", or "Mobley breaks elbow." This unfortunate news, but at least we won't have to see Collier coming in and throwing bricks like he usually does when he gets minutes. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
Bullard and not Damn Lanky, huh? Hmmm.... ------------------ "Ive seen more class at a Pig Humpin Contest ." -- moestavern19 makes headlines again, and in the process leaves little doubt as to what Saturday nights in his hometown of Lompoc, California are like.
Jason is alright, He will mold with the team like molases!! ------------------ Rudy T. will find and fulfill Rockets destiny.
He moves like molases ------------------ P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.
According to ESPN, COllier was placed on IR to make room for Cato. I don't see any mention of Bullard on the IR. When was Bullard placed on IR? http://espn.go.com/nba/newswire/2001/20010216/01088764.html ------------------
This only ensures that we'll end up with another Collier in the draft. ------------------ "My hair's too long and you can't pronounce my name My favorite songs, everybody says are lame"
I should hope that all of you who are piling on Jason in his moment of weakness will be lining up to eat your fair share of crow if he turns into an all star. I'm not neccessarily saying he will be, but I was very impressed with his progress before the injury. I know he isn't the speediest man in the league, but I think you guys are exagerating. Also, I'm not a doctor, but I think attempting to play on an injured knee will tend make one look slow. ------------------ You fellas have room for an optomist?
------------------ The best is yet to come. Go Rockets! [This message has been edited by finalsbound (edited February 16, 2001).]
Oh man Collier is out for the year? Damn there go our playoff chances and his chances for Rookie of The Year I knew you were joking R.B. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Collier an allstar? lol! C'mon now, what progress?! Collier is nothing more than a space eater with a decent jumper, but he never hits his jumper because he has no confidence. Allstar and Jason Collier dont go together. He has no athleticism. His only asset is his size, which may be a good thing for the rocks. I dont doubt that he could help this team, but all star? No way. ------------------
Is Jason Collier's injury the same as Charles Barkley's injury from last year when he injured his quadriceps tendon and was expected to miss six months? ------------------ [This message has been edited by DJ (edited February 19, 2001).]
For those that bash J Collier Would you rather Mihm and his Price tag? Rocket River I know the Kenyon folx will come out but it's not like he's all league either [Marc Jackson Rookie of the Year] ------------------
Depends on what two sandwiches your talking about. I don't know if I'd put him above a good PB&J or a grilled ham and cheese, but he is definitly better than egg salad or tuna loaf. ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.
