I know, my team sucks. I just couldn't get it going during the draft. Being out of town did not help. I DO NOT EAT DONUTS!!! NEVER!!!! I AM NOT A FAN OF SWEET BREADED TREATS OF ANY KIND!! Kolaches, on the other hand....Mmmmm
Refman - have you looked at real estate? If you're interested, you could become a licensed salesperson quickly. The legal background would serve you well, and give you an edge and referrals in the office. You can make a nice living selling upper end homes, and set your own hours. Also, you could move to be a closer very quickly at a title shop. You make a lot of very good contacts and can handle relatively small legal problems for inflential people who are grateful. Chicago title, lawer's title, houston title, american title, etc. Actually, all of you are savvy enough to mine real estate internet databases and do good work. I saw the legal edge, but so much of real estate work today is establishing price points and finding value. Knowing a bit about loans and law helps, too. Mortgage brokering is a nice field, now, with not much required. You can get the training in a few months of night classes at hcc or trade school, like champions school of real estate. Best wishes, p
The Spy museum in DC is hiring I'm going to this on Saturday. Can't wait, I heard that they have bugs spread around and you can listen to other people's conversations. They also interrogate you. Good luck man. Hope you find something.
No, but my side business on eBay was a contributing factor. Honestly the company I work for wasnt doing so great so I think I may have been a guinea pig for downsizing. blows.....
Drew, DFS is always hiring. You could even bite the bullet and work in comissioned inbound sales. Sure the sales job blows, but you could potentially take home 70K annually. Just something to look into.
If Fran Blinebury and some of the yahoos on the Chronicle can get jobs, I really can't say that having a journalism degree should be that important.
Vintage T-shirts. Its a pretty cool concept with a great profit margin. Its just a matter of time (which I have) and having an eye for things. Im ready to take out a small business loan and start up a cup cake place. JUST CUP CAKES. Apparently those places are doing well in NY. I dont care, I just dont want to work for a fuC#ing suit b*stard ever again..... and yes Im a bit tipsy right now...... I'll give you a shout out tomorrow Pimp. Going to Dallas Saturday AM
Drew- check out Magnolia Bakery in NYC for cupcakes done RIGHT. There's always a crowd milling about, ready to shell out $1.50 for a cupcake. Could it survive in Austin? Krispy Kreme does, so I guess anything is possible... If you need another great business idea, there's always the "Jump to Conclusions" mat...
Good point. As for BK's idea of the mullet, well I haven't had a haircut in over 2 months (since I rarely leave my house anymore, who needs it)... but I don't think Indians can grow mullets! It comes out more like a wierd version of an afro... grow out not long!
PhiSlammaJamma.... The Spy Museum is sorta weak. Prepare to wait in line a lot. the beginning is cool, the very end is cool, but there is about an hour of weak crap in the middle. Went three weeks ago.
Laid off in May of 2001, that's why I'm starting up a business. SCREW CORPORATE AMERICA! (Except when it benefits me)
