Grizzlies made the offer. They wanted Outlaw and the 13th pick in return. That's a far cry from Bobby Jackson even with Aaron Brooks.

The grizzlies are so stupid, by only asking for robberies to make up for the Gasol trade they think that they can forget about it or make themselves look less stupid

I hope all of the delusional Calderon fans around here take note of that and stfu. I think we'd all love to add Calderon, but seeing as it's about as likely as adding Steve Nash, I wish people would quit talking about it.

Don't give up hope. They wanted to recover from the misery of Gasol trade but it's good that other teams are not giving more to them in any trade. Sooner or later, their asking price will go down.

Splitter not going to SA is good news. Means they blew a draft pick and have to find other means to replace old frontline players this summer.

blown draft picks for old teams are a killer.

look at what good drafting has done for the pistons. stuckey and maxiel are real difference makers for them.

Mike Miller will be traded for peanuts.

Memphis were silly not to deal Miller before Gasol. Now they've shown their hand to everyone and NO ONE will give them equal value for Miller.

    That's fine. Let them rot.

On the other hand, they can have Bobby Jackson, cash and the #25. Use the cash to buy out Bobby (who knows, maybe we re-sign him for vet min?), and add the pick (maybe they package it to move up).

For them, Mike Miller = lower draft pick (more wins) and less cap space next summer.

It continues to amaze me that the Grizzlies think redemption for the Gasol trade is possible simply by driving up the asking price on Mike Miller. Riiiiiggghhhtttt

Splitter may not turn out to be bad for the Spurs-they could just get him later on like maybe in 5 years when he is mature enough to realise that making it to the NBA should be the number one goal instead of just money, lol by then he'd have tonnes of it...
this situation is much better than the fran vasquez situation though, this was like the very end of the first round whereas vasquez was a lottery pick...

on the note of European players---sign Ramunas Siskauskas!!!

for those people who says Calderon is impossible to trade for---Battier should be very attractive to them...although I'm not sure if battier for calderon is worth it for the team?

Bobby Jackson and crap was NEVER going to be the best offer for Mike Miller. Take off your homer glasses.

I would do that deal in a New York minute, but I don't think Toronto would. Maybe if you had scandalous info on the owner's secret love life.

That's awesome. At least it will shut those Spurs fans up about Scola vs. Splitter.

In what world does 'untouchable' translate to "he can be had for Shane Battier!"?

    You've been drinking abc205485756whatever's kool-aid.

You know absolutely nothing about the NBA if you think Toronto would give up Calderon for Battier. PG's are very hard to come by, aging average sf's are a dime a dozen.

If I was Splitter and had the chance to sign for 8x more money, stay in a situation I'm comfortable and familiar with and have a good life, it wouldn't make me immature for choosing that over moving to America to play for less money, likely less playing time, just so I could say I played in the NBA.

Don't get me wrong, V-Span was a complete idiot about it, but in general, there is nothing wrong with European players not wanting to play in the NBA. I can't blame them.

no one will over pay, or even offer fair value for mike miller after the gasol trade. 29 nba teams know the grizz would just rather dump salary and that high asking price is merely to save face.

i don't think bobby, luther, and #25 is not up to par with the rest of the potential offers. i think it's about right. a rebuilding team always wants ending contracts, young players and picks. why is this offer so bad? because they let gasol go for the exact same thing (endings, young player, picks)?

now, i still think that the grizz will insist on getting a good offer for miller, but without any teams willing to make such an offer they will have to hold on to him until next summer when he becomes an ending contract.
