DD, sorry bro but Cousins is no Oliver Miller. Have you ever watched Cousins play?

    No.

Basically I read your posts and know full well that the opposite will come to fruition.

there's been word that the 76's pick is for sale but it would come with elton....they do have the second pick.

The source is Hoopworlds so nothing concrete... but if it is true, we might be able to get both the 2nd and the 6th pick. But I think we'd end up morgaging our team....

what two picks? If they're referring to the Knick pick and the swap and we get to keep the 14th, that might not be a bad deal. If you mean both the 14th pick and the Knicks pick...so they're saying an upgrade of a pick and Anthony Randolph is worth Hill, Bud and another pick? LOL

I checked this site and their rumor seems to be AR/6th pick/Maggette for Ariza/Taylor/filler (jeffries?)/14. LOL I'd do that trade in a heartbeat, and I'm sure DD will fall in a faint if that happens.

I watched the guy enough to know he is not very intelligent on the court, easily frustrated and immature. Couple my observations with the reports out of Golden State about how uncoachable he is and I know all I need to know about him. The fact that they are shopping him tells you what GS thinks of his potential. Clearly another Zach Randolph in the making. He just needs another few years to get his tan and he will be Zach Randolph in no time. Oh yea, by then he will probably be signed to a gigantic contrract and traded to Memphis too just like his brother Zachary. Hey I don't see no difference.

There was like a 1000 page thread on this one already.

I can see that happening, but I wouldn't want to give up Hill. Maybe give them Hill (who was a lottery pick), and keep Budinger? If we give them Hill, give them the rights to Sergio Llull, also?

So you really think Sacramento trusts Spencer Hawes to be its future championship starting center.

    Really?

What's your problem? It's been noted for a while that Sacramento is interested in Cousins. He can play C for them. Also, Spencer Hawes is not bad. They seem to love him in Sacramento.

You must not have followed them enough. They are already placing the "immature bust" tag on him. He was riding the pine for the second half of the season as soon as Mandry got there.

Dude! I heard Ric Bucher on NBATV saying the Lakers had major remorse over losing Ariza, and were poised to swap Kobe for Ariza once the Finals are over. I guess we should start a thread on that?

Look, I'm not going to call out the original poster - maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. But umm, if the report is BS, it doesn't show anything in terms of what better deals might be out there and it definitely doesn't qualify as a "real possibility".

Likewise, even if Stein said this (and there are big time questions - if he had a real rumor, you'd think he would break this on his own network, on Twitter, and someone besides one person in the entire universe would have heard it) - reporters are fed false information all the time. Some go public with it, then fans mistakenly use one or two anonymous sources that they don't even know as a baseline for what to expect in trades.

For example, if you go back to February, Knicks fans were majorly convinced that there was no way they were giving up Hill and the two picks based on a couple of anonymous source-based reports from New York writers. Turns out, as most of us predicted, those writers were just fed BS in an attempt to play a crafty PR game that ultimately failed because Morey had the patience to wait it out.

Again, I'm not trying to hurt the credibility of the original poster - maybe this is a real rumor. I don't know. But to say that it definitively shows anything or is a "real possibility, at this point, is just flat out wrong. Way, way too premature to say anything along those lines.

Yeah, I didn't follow them much after the trade, but before I did a little. At another forum where there are many Sacramento fans, I proposed a trade that had sent Hawes somewhere else. They treated him then like we treated Landry then. "Are you freaking crazy?! We aren't trading Hawes!". Still though, I don't know why W22_Streak thinks that Kings wouldn't take Cousins. He can play C, and you still have Landry at the PF position, with Tyreke running the point. That isn't a bad team at all.

Exactly. Sacramento is too intersted in Cousins to make this trade a safe trade. I only have heavy doubts that if Cousins drops below 4 Sacramento will scoop him up in no time. That'll be like the Blazers picking Brandon Roy right in front of our eyes just before we are about to pick him.
If Cousins is the board at 5, they'll trade Hawes instantly if it means they need to make room for Cousins. Do you actually foresee the Kings having Spencer Hawes anchoring the middle for their championship run?

You serious? Hawes can be a backup C if they don't trade him, with Cousins as the starter. Read my post directly above your own.

I have Cousins sleeping at 6 in my mock. Because I believe the Kings are likely to pick up Greg Monroe.

    1-Wall
    2-Turner
    3-Favors
    4-Johnson
    5-Monroe
    6-Cousins
    7-Aminu

this of course is if no trade is made, which I highly doubt. I predict Minny and Portland to get something done somehow...

Until this is confirmed, why is everyone even discussing it? Odds are this is just a rumor, and won't happen.

This is a waste of time dicsussing all of this when the report hasn't even been confirmed, and likely won't happen.
