Why hasn't Nellie played him? He is talented, but not getting minutes on the GSW seems like a red flag to me. He has also missed games through injury. Something that we can ill afford.

Doesn't matter how good Bud is, you can't pass up on that combination of length, speed, and grace.

Ill Take Randolph, sure would be fun to watch Avatar Jake running around the court (look at him looks just like him, physique and all) LOL... Enough bs make the trade already and select another project while we are at it alas...Lance Stephenson. In my opinion this guy is going to be good and if not him that guy who's number 24 on the youtube video someone posted on here, looks like a better and improved TMAC.

He looks like a young marcus camby of course a left handed version, but with better shooting form and stroke.

Kinda like a mix between marcus camby and Derick coleman. But also seems to have the potential to be an impact player.

I think acquiring him will be a good move. Since the removal of the illegal defense rule , most of the teams that won championships had at least one good shotblocker. Pistons had ben wallace, tayshaun prince and rasheed, Spurs had tim duncan, Lakers now have gasol and bynum, Celtics have pierce and garnett,

When you're doing a deal, it's usually not a good idea to be giving up the top two assets in the trade. In this speculative trade, the two top assets involved in the trade are Randolph and the #6 and both of them go to Houston. So what's in it for GS? Why do they do this deal?

If Morey is indeed interested in this kid, i can see why. Can you imagine this guy on the break? His highlights show he is impressive on the break. Imagine a team of:

    Brooks
    Martin
    Ariza
    Scola
Randolph ... on the fast break. That would be run and gun at its finest. Also, it seems this is the type of power forward that would complement Yao very well on the defensive end being so athletic and long. I'd be ecstatic if we picked this guy up and developed Jordan Hill. Who needs Bosh when you've got that kind of potential. It would hurt to lose Budinger but I could see why you pull the trigger if you've got the deal in front of you.

    I'll trust Morey.

I have been intrigued by Randolph since the trade chatter from just before the 2010 trade deadline. He isn't getting the court time you would expect from someone with his potential on a lottery team.

Each time I look around the league I see teams that fail at assisting young stars to develop. Some players will develop on their own, but others require patience, confidence and trust from the coaching staff. Let players make mistakes, especially if you are not in title contention - it will only make your team better.

I remember when I was playing bball when growing up. My coach made the difference of my game between success and failure.
Coach 1) patient, had confidence in my game.
Coach 2) restrictive and reactive to mistakes.

Coach 1 brought the best out of my game, where as coach 2 caused my game to wither.

I see Nellie as Coach 2 in this instance, not assisting the player to grow. However, if Randolph could get into a Coach 1 environment, I believe he would flourish...

It would be nice if this was a trade on the table, however I think it could be just a unsubstantiated rumor.

Apparently GS really wants to get rid of randolph, that's why the trade may appear to be a little lopsided. also, you must remember that the rockets would be sending three assets to them, budinger and two late lottery picks.

I imagine if the rumor has any validity at all that Jordan Hill would have to be in the mix. #14, Chase Budinger (who we can value at, say, #17 in this draft) for, essentially, a #14 who could have gone higher (Randolph) and #6, and a draft with a value that could suck for GS or could suck for Houston?

Jordan Hill + Chase Budinger would be more of a starting point.

Did the OP ever show up again? When I first saw this thread I thought, Isn't this proposed trade thread eerily similar to one that someone conjured here a few weeks ago?

I'd rather trade Chase than Jordan Hill although it depends on where exactly we are picking. If its the 3rd or 4th picks then Jordan because we can take one of Derrick Favors and DeMarcus Cousins. If its 6th, like in this trade rumor, then trade Chase because guys like Aminu and Wesley Johnson are likely to be available.

because randolph would be gone after next year. Gsw might value cbud more since they are tired of randolph. Further, cbud's contract is stupidly cheap for the next 3 years. So I can see how they might be very open to trading down 8 spots if they are picking up a great team player with good talent and a very cheap contract and also picking up an extra first rounder in 2012.

this trade makes sense for gsw if they are done with randolph.

Actually Randolph is under contract for 2010-2011 and has a team option for around 2.9 Million for 2011-2012. Budinger is under contract for one extra year than Randolph.
