Have you ever see how fluid this guy is on the basketball court? Have you also seen how well he handles the ball? It's not so much his athleticism as it is that he's versatile enough to play small forward while Hill could man the power forward spot and Yao could play center that has me so excited. Even if you slide him over to the power forward position, he knows how to use his length to alter shots, which is what we've always said Yao needs next to him. Also, though I don't like Cousins' attitude, if Morey has confidence in him and he is still on the board, how can you say no to a 290 pound center who isn't a stiff. I love Budinger's game, but really? You'd rather keep Bud and a lower pick?

they have similar build and style, johnson has more raw offensive talent, i agree. as for defense, its not close, ariza is head and shoulders above johnson.

but wes johnson does not have the driving ability, that first step, that the rockets need out of their SG. in that sense, he's very similar to ariza.

then again, maybe my anti-cuse bias (go hoyas) is fudging my judgment. still, my point is that wes johnson is more like ariza, and less like kevin martin, which is why i dont think we should draft him.. at SF you'd have ariza, battier, and johnson (don't forget budinger, if he isn't traded away)

I'd do it if he'll do this to the Jazz again:

I know it's just one game, but those are some impressive highlights.

This. He would be a very good compliment to Yao. He's fast, agile, can block shots, can spread the floor with an above average mid range jumper, and can even play spot minutes at the 5. Randolph can essentially play the 3,4, and 5. Something not even a player of Odom's versatility is capable of doing.

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/whh9ZCFoYLQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/whh9ZCFoYLQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

imagine this type of defensive presence next to Yao.

Hard to not get excited about basketball when you watch this guy play.

Legit HOF potential in there somewhere...

Obviously, however the chances of acquiring Bosh are low.

DM shouldn't go for Randolph,I used to think that he had a good feel for the game, but he seems to be a low IQ player who doesn't get it and relies on his athleticism and energy.

Acquiring the 6th pick would be nice, but it will cost whatever little leverage we have in getting a star. I still have some concerns about Bosh, but I do admit that anyone we get from the draft is likely to be a project.

I would rather go the Donta Greene like route plus Jeffries and/or a 2nd round pick/Taylor for a "Ron Artest" without the baggage, for 8-9 M if we can't get a big name.

we should turn this into a poll so management could see how we feel.... I for one am all for it... if anything it gives us more options... we can then package the #6 and Hill for the number three and draft demarcus cousins to be yaos future replacement

    Ming/Cousins/Andersen
    Scola/Randolph/Hayes
    Ariza/Battier
    Martin/JJ redick (MLE)/Taylor
    Brooks/Lowry

Contender this year and many more years to come! Scola and Battier are perfect guys for Cousins and Randolph...

Our best bet to get a very good offer is to add a quality upside player like C Buddy

AHA! Didn't look at it from that point. So this idea is shaping out to be a win-win for Houston if it goes down. Come on DD you got to see that we can't lose with this deal!

    Yes. It makes sense.

Marc Fein serves as a studio host for NBA TV where he appears every Tuesday on The Beat.

Did anyone watch 'The Beat' show today?

Give me Randolph and 6 for C-Bud, 14 and Knicks 2012 any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Use the # 6 pick and Hill to move up to #3 and take Cousins. Then sign Joe Johnson and this team is ready for a championship run. IMHO

Dealing with knuckleheads is part of the job. You can't save them all. All you can do is try. Really bad examples you chose though to make your point.
