Demarcus Cousins looks to be the second coming of Melvin Turpin. Hope I am wrong if we get stuck with him

I think Nellie sees CBud as a Chris Mullins clone

My comprehension levels are slightly above those of a gnat but even I know that Cbud is far from untouchable.

If we get Anthony Randolph in this trade, he would be our backup Small Forward, not backup Power Forward.

    Yao / 6th pick???
    Scola / Hill
    Ariza / Randolph
    Martin / Battier
    Brooks / Lowry

Our 2nd unit frontcourt and lineup overall would be bigger than our starters. A lot of athleticism, anchored by our captain Battier and Lowry leading the way.

If Hill develops to the point where he can shoot the 18 footer with confidence, he might see more time with Yao on the 1st unit to provide size and shotblocking on defense with Scola taking his veteran steadiness to the 2nd unit as the season progresses.

Everybody is on Trevor for being inefficient but you could make a case for him as well. He is a championship piece as a role player, still young, learning his ways and his length is great to have.
He is kind of a veteran with 24 or 25. You would want to part with him and not Budinger?
Everybody is an asset. I admit Budinger is not a 2nd rounder but he's not a high lottery pick either.
This draft is deep enough so why not trade up?

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but lets remember that randolph's contract expires at the end of next season, which fits morey's plan with yao's and battier's contracts also expiring. morey could abandon this experiment with ease, if not take advantage of it next summer with more cap room.

EXACTLY! Thats exactly what I was going to post. Its really easy for alot of people to fall in love with a guy with his athleticism who can make a sportscenter highlight, with a dunk or a block, on any given night and then they label him a good player with TONS of potential. This is what everybody here has fallen for. This is why none of us work as front office personel in the NBA. I would rather make a deal with Philly and eat Brand's contract and draft Favors.

He's not untouchable, but his value will be much higher after another season of experience.

i don't think you're giving him enough credit. 11pts 6rbs off the bench in only a third of the season this year, there is toooons of room for growth.

i actually hate the guys guts, i think he's real arrogant.. but that doesn't mean i can't see him on this team. it'd be a good move, and like i said, HIS CONTRACT EXPIRES AT THE END OF NEXT SEASON.. why not a one year try? the guy could be great. the athleticism is there. i think with wise players around him like scola, battier, and yao, along with help from CD and sikma, he could really develop.

Who said the trade was Budinger for Randolph? There are a few picks involved too.

jeffries, hayes, and lowry (if they dont restructure or extend his contract) also have expiring contracts in 2011. you could add randolph to that list if we trade for him. plus yao's colossal contract, that'd be a huge salary dump.

If he doesnt work out in that one year then the trade would be a failure. We would be giving up Chase for nothing. Not to mention Stromile Swift had the same averages as Randolph at the same time in their careers and we all know what happened with him.

I agree. Why give them a extra draft pick which can be a top ten pick in 2012 to move to to the 6th spot this year. It's an extra 1st round draft pick, not a swap scenerio. If it was a top 4 pick, I would think differently. Also, if we traded for Anthony Randolf, is he good enough to trade back to another team for a top ten draft pick? As much as I like Battier, would we have been able to trade him back for a top 8 pick the following year or the year after that like we traded our 8th pick (Rudy Gay).
My point is if you're going to receive a player from a draft lottery pick, you should be able to trade back in a similar situation. If not, that player becomes very risky.

The reason I don't give him a one year try is that we're giving up an extra 1st round draft pick and CBud. I think Warriors make out like bandits, because you know they might not resign him. Especially if he has issues with Don Nelson. Warriors should be more desperate than us, not the other way around. Plus, no gurantee we would be interested in resigning him or trade him back for a high draft pick type of player.

first of all, i'm going to dismiss the stromile swift comparisons because you're right, he could be swift. but he could also be bosh. or kg. or josh smith.

no one has said budinger is the crux of this trade, i would rather not give up budinger as well. but we're stacked at SF. the bosh prospect, though our best option, is not our most likely option. randolph would add great length, youth, and depth to our front line.

imagine drafting monroe with the 6th pick..

    randolph + monroe FOR hill/budinger + 14th pick + 2012 knicks pick

    assuming we give away HILL:

    yao/monroe
    scola/randolph/hayes
    ariza/battier
    martin/budinger
    brooks/lowry

    assuming we give away BUDINGER:

    yao/monroe/hill
    scola/randolph/hill
    ariza/battier
    martin/taylor/battier
    brooks/lowry

i'd start this line up on day 1 and feel comfortable with our chances of getting homecourt in the first round. BUT OF COURSE, daryl morey would have more moves in store, even after making this trade.

    i like this trade.

It's a moot point anyway, Morey is not stupid, there is no way he has even considered a deal this dumb
