I don't see it that way. I would still like to have Bosh and have Randolph play at the 3 and 4 spots. Randolph is so versatile it's crazy. Can you imagine rolling out Yao/Bosh/Randolph at the 5/4/3? Talk about matching up with the Lakers. There's your length and athleticism to topple showtime.

I'd do the deal for Randolph and #6 if all there was to it was #14 and 2012 Knicks pick. Then if we could convince Minny to send #4 and Rubio to us for #6 and 2011 pick swap, that would be fantastic. We then send Toronto Hill and expirings to go with #4 and sign up Bosh. If we have to include Brooks in the deal and get back Jack to get it done, I'm fine with that too.

    Jack
    Martin
    Randolph
    Yao
    Bosh

    Lowry
    Luell/Taylor
    leftover SF (Ariza or Jeffries)
    Free agent Center (Brad Miller)
    Scola

Yes, and we see where all of those players are now.. sitting at home watchin Kobe '[do] work'.

Laugh all you want--killer instinct matters. Nate Robinson has it too.

Ok so you are saying Chase is not Kobe......

I think all of us can live with that.

Not so sure a second round pick can be a bust. Most fail in the NBA.

Randolph is just as injury prone as Stro. People can blame Nellie for the games he did not play but injuries played a part.

P.S. Lebron has a killer instinct.. he's just not fully developed in the area.

Precisely! We are getting on the same page here..

I tend to focus more on mental toughness in players.. of course talent matters.. but second to that is mental toughness. That is the difference between champions and conference winners. It's the difference between who gets the rebound, who makes the diving play, who sets themselves up for 'luck' and success. Winning and losing depends on mentality.

Anthony had a nasty season ending injury to his ankle. He has not played a lick of ball since. He has gained 25 lbs.

    - Do we take a risk on an injured big man?

I've wanted this guy ever since this game...

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_GAtyNm8vnE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_GAtyNm8vnE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

IIRC he tried to dunk on Deke a couple times too but got denied...Can't knock the guy for trying though. I believe Worell and Clyde both gave Randolph props for trying so hard to dunk on Deke. The guy is a competitor though and can be a match-up nightmare given his ridiculous speed, athleticism, and ball handling skills. He ain't soft on D either.

Wasnt there some report that Randolph and his agent wanted big bucks when his contract was up?

Agreed, but does Ray Allen have it?

    What about Garnett?

Because before they joined Pierce they had not done anything.

Also, who on the team has to have the Killer instinct? All of them, the leader? Who?

Look, I am not dismissing it, I actually categorize it as being a competitor and hating to lose, and there are players on the Rockets that have that already.

Does Chase? I don't know, maybe.....but there is no inference you can make about it after one year coming off the bench as a 21 year old.

How can you call him injury prone after really only one season of injury? Remember he is only 20 and been injured once.

It wasn't a devastating injury. Battier has had the same injury.

BTW. He's gained the 25 lbs by training in the offseason and If you'd seen him before, he needed the extra weight.

Never would I give up Brooks unless it's for a 20-10 guard

You would rather have Nate Robinson than Dwight Howard.

It's a big part of the puzzle, but not the only puzzle. You still need to be in an environment inductive to success. Ray Allen and KG both have mental toughness.. but they are different. Ray Allen is calm, relaxed, and not afraid to take a big shot--these are important traits to winning mentalities. KG is fired up, doesn't back down, but he lacks in areas of composure, intelligence, and respect. Really, it comes down to leadership traits and values. Some players develop more than others. Kobe has most of them down, and that is why he plays the way he plays in situations where others would not do the same thing. It's a learning process whereby the product is a game that's slowed.

Those players who can visualize success and take over--Wade, Kobe, Jordan, Duncan, Hakeem--those are the players you build franchises around. Of course, it is hard to find players with both the talent and mentality necessary to product champions. Most teams in the NBA probably focus on talent alone. If I were GM, I would focus on both, and if it came down to it, I would choose mentality every time.

like stro he's missed games here and there from minor injuries. injury prone doesn't mean season ending injuries only.

Your ability to process data is rudimentary, and I won't respond to your hypothetical, comedic statement/question.
