I would join you DaDa but I'm on pc. mic, is there no server browser on the consoles for BC2? That was a big thing for me on the pc for MW2...no servers is a big NO NO for me. I have no problem finding full servers when ever I want to play on the server list. I'll agree, nothing comes close to MW's (1 and 2) campaign. But as for MP, BC2 has been way more fun to me. I guess I just like blowing up buildings and such.
No server browser. You just pick the game mode, whether or not you want hardcore, and click "find a game" or whatever it says. It seriously blows if you want to play late at night. The other night I joined a game and I was the only person on my team (lol), and there were three people on the other team. Why would I even want to stay? The destructive environments and the vehicles are definitely fun. It's really fun with a solid squad, no doubt!
I think it's so lame how they don't give you a server browser. It's part of the fun, Favorite servers and constantly playing with the same pubs. Found a few good servers that I frequent because people actually work together...and insanely well.
That's rad. I'd be all about that. As it is, I have my voice and text chat set to friends only because with most pubs, they can't handle having a girl in chat. As it is, I just prefer to only talk to friends/only have friends hear what I'm saying.
BC2 is supposed to add all that in as DLC later....check out the BC2 Store and you can see the slots that are not released yet. DD
Just got this game a week ago and have really been enjoying it. I was honestly very hesitant about another shooter, as I was completely shooter-burnt out after mw2. But playing this on multiplayer has been a very different, and eye opening experience. It's one thing that the maps are huge, but beyond the size and scope it is how everything is dynamic that is truly impressive. It just completely flipped the switch for me and made every other shooter I've played seem dull, static, and unrealistic. Instead of playing in one big set piece, now you are in a living and changing environment. Yes the controls are not as "tight", and the 30 fps is lower than mw2. But looking at gameplay as a whole, I can definitely see myself spending alot more time on bc2, even without the option to prestige. It is just more... fun. You guys have covered pretty much everything in this thread, but I have just one tibbit to share. As the game is currently constructed, K/D ratio DOES matter. This is obviously true for squad deathmatch. On rush this is not true on defense, as you have infinite tickets. It is somewhat true on offense though, as a very low K/D means you are dying alot, and hurting your team. Unless of course you are the one destroying a lot of crates. But most importantly, this tip is for Conquest. K/D is absolutely imperative here. This is because the ticket bleed for holding flags is nearly non-existent. For holding all 3 flags the bleed is something like 1 ticket per 15 seconds. This means you should definitely NOT go guns blazing to take down a flag. The best way to win this mode is still to kill alot of enemies, and avoid dying, ala team deathmatch. There has been many occasions where the score is tied at 25, and my team has 2/3 or even 3/3 flags the rest of the way, and end up losing. A lot of people are complaining about this fact, since it is supposed to be an objective based mode. I believe Dice has come out and said they are working to improve the ticket bleed system, and it should be fixed by the next update. All said and done, this is a fantastic game. And if you are burnt out from mw2 and don't want another shooter like I was, do yourself a favor and rent this to try it out. You will find that there is a whole big world outside COD. Oh, and XBOX live member please post your gamertags. I need a good squad to run with. Still trying to convert my friends over from mw2.
But here's the problem: I see way more players who are obsessed with their K/D ratio to the detriment of their team than there are people who "go guns blazing" to take an objective. What I usually see happen is people sitting back and waiting for someone else to rush in, and only after that's happened and they've seen where enemies are from that first guy getting gunned down will they go in. But someone has to take the first step, and someone always thinking of their K/D ratio won't do it. I've been in Rush matches where I'm the ONLY player on my whole team who ever goes for an objective... everyone else just snipes. That's BS... there should be more gung-ho players, not less. Maybe it's different in other modes, but from spending about 70 hours playing Rush, that's my experience.
It's definitely problematic in Rush. I get stuck on teams like this often, and nothing ever happens. Or I end up on teams that don't know how to defend for squat. I do hope they adjust the flag stuff for Conquest because as is taking a flag just = another place to spawn, basically.
My trick for rush is...usually I choose Ass. with SmkGer ...I lay down a thick cloud of smoke in front of the base and around objectives... WHY? Smoke helps prevent those Recon Hogs from seeing you......they cant see through it...so they just sit back there trying to wait for the smoke to clear usually we can arm one if not both while this is going on If Com is Armed....and I respawn, Ill respawn as Recon to Mort. Attack Com, and to Snipe people trying to disarm If I see a Tank, I usually respawn with tracer and place it on the tank...thats a +30 and if you help blow it up..you get some added bonuses in there Found that Sniping the UAV from the bottom will take it down in 1 hit The AA guns are quite useless....I have counted up to 10 hits on a helicopter and it not even beginning to smoke...maybe Im doing something wrong...I usually fire infront of it and the bullets kinda curve into it I spend alot of time on the BC2 EA official forum and yes, there are guys out there who only care about they K/D ratio....One guy admitted that once he gets 3-4 kills in a row, the first time he gets killed after that he leaves the game....LAME I have finally worked hard enough after being blasted constantly as a Medic to get my K/D back to 1.00 which Im happy with after being at .65 SpawnCamping also seems to be solved maybe atleast in Rush, you can not goto the enemy base at the beginning it will only let you go so far before the suicide deal starts counting down....but after that...you can lag behind all the other players if you want.... I only do this if the other team are Recon Whores who sitback and Mortar Strike and Snipe all day....yes they usually rack up a gang of kills but also they lose the round most of the time LOL today I finally got the trophy for a RPG-7, M60, and KNIFE kill all in same round!! YES!!
i do agree about that. when i first started out, capping flags was my main priority, till the point that i will sacrifice myself to cap it. but then i still lost and also end up with bad k/d. it was pointless. now i mainly go for the kills, and just go with the flow really.
I've tried the smoke grenade spam tactic (someone mentioned it earlier) and it was quite successful. Sometimes I go with Eng. +Gustav +Explosives leg pouch +Improved demolition and blast the M-Com station.
LoL not only is it effective, but its fun... Im taking a break right now, alot of kids must be playing, I get 6-9 kills in a row...and some teammate either squad or non squad...will come up behind me shoot me in my head and take my spot....wth....and why dont people throw out ammo or medic kits...i just dont get it
Might have to try that. I haven't tried c4ing / blowing up the pts since the beta. Back then my buds used to load up the UAV with C4, and I'd fly it down to the point and tell them to blow it....and it would kill it immediately with out hurting the UAV. I'd then fly it back, load more c4 on it....then use the laser guided missile too blow a hole in the side of buildings....and fly it in there to do it again.... It was very a-holish of us....but pretty damn funny at the same time. Since I play on PC, I've noticed how most people have slower computers so they take a little while longer to load, allowing me the open window to rush the pts before they are even getting their kits together.
Also found a strange glitch. If you switch teams at the beginning of a round before you spawn, it swaps you to the other team but you still spawn in the same location. For example, switching to US from Russian, and you'll spawn in the Russian pt....you can still vehicles, or take the closest pt to their spawn. Found that out when I wanted to switch to be on the same team as some friends.
That is a bad one they will need to fix, you should report that one to their forums.....after using it to your advantage for a while of course. Oh, and I looked you up, don't do a friend request to my kids X-box account, I get mine back tomorrow.....and we will hook up with that one instead. Your language was ...uh...colorful in your signature. DD
The med kit and ammo packs are a new thing that people need to get use to and you build up your points real fast doing team oriented stuff. I love it. DD
If you're talking about on the 360....I don't play on that. I'm on the PC. I used to have a 360 but sold it a few years back. So, any uprising on 360 isn't me.
Aha, I play on the 360, and PC...but my laptop's keyboard is sort of crunched, so got a USB one and mouse and need to install it and hook it up to my 37" monitor. DD
